A lot of education for not a lot of money,

Santa brought our 20-month-old son these cards, as well as Numbers 1 to 26 Flash Cards and First Words Flash Cards (but we haven't opened those yet). These alphabet cards are colorful and engaging, but I agree with some of the other reviewers that they tend toward the flimsy side. Our son really likes to see them, but he also really likes to *handle* them (which means, inevitably, folding them or otherwise expressing his delight through destruction). I think the best feature is that the set is so dang cheap that if they get folded or mutilated I won't sweat it. And less stress for me means less stress for him.

These flash cards are great for the price. They are flimsy and easily bent, so you have to control them but they are still helping my 18-month old daughter.Because there is both the lower and upper case with the same pictures, I've started her with matching pictures out of a group with them. It's a second way to use them as a learning tool.

Educational, but not very durable,
This review is from: Alphabet Flash Cards (Brighter Child Flash Cards) (Cards)
Toddler daughter loves these cards. I separated out the lower case to save for when she's older. The pictures are appropriate for toddlers. The cards are not very durable, suggest supervision with toddlers.

Well, they're just flash cards so how much is there really to say? They're are two sets: capital and lower-case letters. While I would disagree that they are "flimsy" they're aren't card-stock; you can't let little kids play with them (unless you don't care about the cards getting ruined). But, hey, they're two bucks. You could always get a couple of packs if you wanted to.Recommended.

Product is somewhat low quality but for the price i paid i had no problem...love that there is lower and uppercase letters on separate cards as well as depicting the same picture....

These cards work great. I tried alphabet blocks and books, but using these flash cards for a short-time everyday has quickly taught my 4 yr old his upper and lower case letters. Also, now he's suddenly noticing all the letters in the world around him and so proud he knows them!

These flash cards have worked well with our preschooler. The pictures keep him interested and give him a hint when he needs one. The cards are also pretty sturdy. This has been a good product to supplement and reinforce what our child has been learning in preschool.

This review is from: Alphabet, Grade PK (Brighter Child Workbooks Brighter Child Preschool Workbooks) (Paperback)
This time of year, we find ourselves spending more time indoors, so this workbook was a nice alternative to watching TV.The product description claims a lot, but this book is mostly just dot-to-dots using the alphabet, and coloring by letter to discover hidden pictures. It's not as educational as the Brighter Child® Learning Activities Preschool Workbook; in fact, I think the Brighter Child preschool level is geared more towards 2-3 yr olds...any older than that, and they probably know everything in the books already. I also noticed that this series uses a lot of the same pictures in different books, so I wish I hadn't bought so many at the same level. If you buy this expecting anything more than some entertainment for a bad-weather day, you will be disappointed; however, the workbooks are more fun than simple coloring books.

I don't know what that editorial review is saying; this workbook only contains connect-the-dots and color-by-letters. My son and the girl I baby-sit have enjoyed it.
