We got this for our daughter at 18 months. She is absolutely enthralled by it, and we think its hilarious too. Wegman dresses his dogs up like people and takes them through the ludicrous process of making alphabet soup, full of everything from Ice crean to vineger ("don't put i n too much vinegar, you don't want the soup to be too vinegary. Oops, its going to be too vinegary!" This is a great video for both kids and adults. END

This video captivatse small children. I take it to my child's preschool on rainey days...it's always a hit! Surely a video everyone can view.

I think this is a highly amusing video and have given it as a gift to several children. It is especially great for those who love dogs, although small children don't always seem to notice that the dogs are performing tasks that they really can not. It is one of those videos that an adult can watch over and over along with a child without going crazy. Highly recommended.

We noticed a group of adults, standing outside a store window, laughing and fascinated while watching a video that was playing on the inside. No sound of course, but the video was so funny visually. Later, when we heard the monotone commentary, it became even more droll, as Wegman put his dogs through their paces and as they spontaneously responded, not like actors, but like ....well, dogs. They even ate some of the props.

My 16 month old son loves this video, and I don't mind watching it over and over with him. He giggles hysterically at the dogs wearing hats. It was recommended by someone and we're getting another copy as a gift for a two year old that watched it and kept asking to see the puppies again.

Our 3 year-old son received this as a gift for his last birthday, and it has been a huge hit for the whole family. William Wegman's dogs have always had a special place in our hearts since we, too, have a weimaraner. It really is a riot to watch the dogs mixing soup while eating the ingredients right out of the pot. And I love how it also teaches ABC's without losing it's entertainment value! We highly recommend this video - it's a must-see for any age!

I bought this long before I had kids. I used to watch it and just crack up. Now my kids love it. The VCR ate my copy. Must replace.

This video is delightful.
Just the right amount of silliness in an "ABC" format.
Appropriate for elementary children and their parents.
I show it to accompany an art lesson on William Wegman's photography for 4th grade students.

A friend gave me this video as a gift several years ago, and it remains my all-time favorite. It's great entertainment for any adult with a zany sense of humor (I'm 49); of course kids like it, too. It's a perfect antidote for days that have gone less-than-perfectly. Also, it's a TERRIFIC gift - I know!

Alphabet Soup is a classic! It should be in the video library of everyone who either has a dog, or uses the alphabet on a daily basis. I had lost my original copy, and am ecstatic to have it again in my life. Buy this! Watch it! Laugh! Enjoy life again!
