5.0 out of 5 stars Alpine is great
I bought 2 pair of these speakers to replace my stock speakers in my 2011 Mustang, and also installed a Pioneer gm-d9500f 75watt per channel amp. Wow... I must say these speakers sound great and very clean. They go well with the 2 rockford fosgate 12inch subs I have.
For the price these speakers are great. Go to crutchfield and there $99 a pair.

3.0 out of 5 stars decent, but not great
I am satisfied with these speakers. They are not the best, but a good value for the price offered on Amazon. I paid about $117 for the pair delivered. Shipping took about a week. They will complement any decent head unit. However, you absolutely need to have a sub woofer as bass is very poor. I have a powered bazooka bass tube that I have used for many years that...

They will complement any decent head unit. However, you absolutely need to have a sub woofer as bass is very poor. I have a powered bazooka bass tube that I have used for many years that still gets the job done. I set the hi/low crossover for the speakers/sub woofer at 78 hertz after much listening. 125 just didn't work. I had to boost the mids which I found strange, but necessary. It took about an hour before I got everything sounding good in my new car. You will probably need similar time. Every car has different acoustics. I was quite concerned at first that these speakers wouldn't get the job done, but after a lot of tweaking, I am satisfied.

Bought these Alpine speakers for less than $70/pair when they are $110/pair at Best Buy. Gotta love Amazon! They sound a ton better than my old set, very clear and sharp.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Choice to Replace Factory Speakers, October 31, 2010

I bought these speakers to replace a pair of Polk db507's that I bought to replace the factory speakers in a 2008 Ford F-150. The Polks sounded good for 18 months, then the tweeter in one went out. The Alpines, have so far performed well. These are a little more tinny than the Polks were, and have a little less low end. I run these with a 10" sub in a sealed box, and these Alpines reproduce mid-bass frequencies well. There is very little distortion, even turned all the way up. The imaging in these is also good because you can swivel the tweeter a little bit.

Overall, I would buy these speakers again (in fact for the back doors I will). The price was good, the companies reputation is good, and if they last longer than the Polks, I will be an Alpine fan for life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Alpine All the Way!, May 12, 2009
This review is from: Alpine SPS507 / SPS-507 / SPS-507 5x7 Coaxial 2-Way Speaker Set (Electronics)
Purchasing these speakers from Amazon.com was the perfect solution. Price, quality and time of delivery were EXCELLENT!!! I give it 9 out of 10 stars!! The only thing that would have made it 10 out of 10 stars, would have been if the speakers installed themselves...just joking! Amazon.com is the GREATEST!!!

These speaker were suggested to me by my local car audio shop. They go very well with the basic Pioneer head that I have.Great sound with no amp. I don't know how well the directional tweeter works. Seems like a gimmick to me, but the speakers are in my doors, so I can't easily move them around.
