5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT SUBS!!!
Wow, I was a bit skeptical that this sub could be as good as everyone says. I personally love most of Alpine's products so I decided I had to get one of these. I am amazed! This is the best sub I have ever heard. I have it paired with a Kenwood KAC-7205 that pumps out 1000W max (500W RMS) and it's in a 1 Cu.Ft. sealed enclosure. This I only have the bass level turned up...

3.0 out of 5 stars Alpine type r 1222d
The item got here fast, but when i opened the package it was the 1223d, and thats a 100 watts more, and i only have a 900 watt amp, so 2 1223d's is 1200 watts witha 900 watt amp compared to 1000 watts with a 900 watt amp. soo im a little angry but the customer service was very nice i would consider buying from worldwide again.
i wish i could review this product :(

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT SUBS!!!, April 22, 2010

Wow, I was a bit skeptical that this sub could be as good as everyone says. I personally love most of Alpine's products so I decided I had to get one of these. I am amazed! This is the best sub I have ever heard. I have it paired with a Kenwood KAC-7205 that pumps out 1000W max (500W RMS) and it's in a 1 Cu.Ft. sealed enclosure. This I only have the bass level turned up to +3 and this subs hits louder, harder, and cleaner than my buddy who has two 12" Kicker CompVX subs with a 1500W amp. If you are looking for a great sub, this is it! You will not be disappointed! I can't even imagine how much harder this would hit with a ported box!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Subs, September 18, 2010

First off i got these subs from amazon. Amazon's price can't be beat...Installed these bad boys in my Jeep Grand Cherokee in an Atrend 1.55 cubic feet ported box powered by the alpine MRP-M1000 amp(beast) with Stinger 4 gauge wires. It took about 4 weeks for them to be broken in and they sound AMAZING. The bass is LOUD and the sound quality is great and they sound good with any type of music. The only thing i wish was different was the frequency range. The subs have some troubles with the higher pitched bass, but i got some type R component door speakers and that solved the problem. All I need to do now is figure out how to make everything stop rattling!! These subs are beasts...Best sound for the price, I guarantee it!!

This 12" sub sounds great! Make sure you let it break in though, it definitely got louder after the break in period.

these subs are amazing, they bump so hard if you know how to power them the right way. i personally bought two type r's and two mrp-500 amps one for each sub and i have them powered at 2ohms, and dear lord they make your ears bleed if you have never heard a real stereo before. these are priced great online. in the stores you'd be paying almost a 100 dollars more! always remember shop around!

4.0 out of 5 stars Can't beat the price, March 27, 2010
This review is from: Alpine SWR-1222D 12" Type-R Series Subwoofer (2ohm + 2ohm) (Personal Computers)
This is probably one of the best beginner subs out there, it's inexpensive and has great build quality. It gets loud and sounds good doing it. I believe this is what everyone should start with, at one point I had one. They may not be the loudest subs ever but for the price they are louder than most.

4.0 out of 5 stars BBBBAASSSS!!, February 24, 2010

I'm really feeling this sub, only had about two weeks... but I'm enjoying it thoroughly. I have it paired with an Alpine MRP-M500 1-channel Amp and ported box made by SoundXpressions, to me my setup sounds phenomenal. I compared my single 12" sub to my buddy's 15" Rockford sub, and we both agreed my 12 sounds cleaner and hits harder than his sub. I have the gain on the amp about half way up and the bass on my factory deck at standard "0", anything above that and it's too much. My wife tells me she hears my bass a few seconds before I actually get home!! I can't imagine how two of these would sound.

All and all, if you're on a budget ( like I was) I highly recommend this sub. Very Very Pleased!!

These subs are great! I've had them in my trunk for about a year now and they still sound amazing. I have them in a ported box wired to a hifonics brutus 1200w amplifier. Im giving each sub 600 watts and it still sounds great. Definitely a good buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect, April 3, 2009
This review is from: Alpine SWR-1222D 12" Type-R Series Subwoofer (2ohm + 2ohm) (Personal Computers)
I've had this for several years now and I haven't had a problem with it at all. It hits really hard and I don't even use it to full capacity because it can be too much bass at times. It hits really deep/hard, I have it in a ported box and it sounds very clean. I'm powering it with a Kenwood KAC amp, running more than 500w RMS. I shouldn't be doing that, but still it hasn't blown anyway.

i had a kicker comp vr and it was a little less money then this. i havce an alpine 500 watt rms amp, and thats what i was running with the compvr, for a while it was hitting smoothly. it sooned burned out. literally. i got this and now i can turn that amp up all the way and the alpine type r can handle it easily. i am so happy with it that i want to upgrade and get two.
