UPDATED REVIEW: After posting a negative review of these shoes (below), the manufacturer reached out to me and sent me a replacement pair of shoes free of charge. I have now used these shoes for three months without any issues, and they still look and feel great. I've updated my rating and review to reflect this, and overall I am quite happy with these shoes and appreciate that the company followed up with me to address my concerns.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: Shoes looked fantastic when shipped, and were very comfortable. However, within just two weeks of beginning to wear these shoes, the sole began to become unglued from the shoe. One month in, and the leather sole itself is beginning to tear. Although I was initially excited for these shoes, the quality is extremely poor, and I would not recommend these to anyone -- much better to get a more expensive pair that will last more than a month.

Admittedly, I tear through shoes at a pretty fast rate. I work a job in a hotel in which I am constantly on my feet. I am also a pretty fat guy so that puts a lot of stress on my footwear as well. Withing a week I noticed the sole coming unglued and tearing near the heel. This happen on both shoes. I also found that the inner sole kept doing this weird thing where it would curl up and be very uncomfortable when putting the shoes back on. Eventually it flattened out but towards the end they were basically unwearable. Also, mine had a weird smell when first purchased, that did eventually go away.

All that being said, they are great to look at when you first get them. Great design and they certainly don't look cheap.

Right now I'm wearing a pair of Rockport Men's Ledge Hill Lace-Up Boots and could not be happier with them. If you have the extra $50 or so, I highly recommend picking up a pair.

I'm always skeptical about buying clothes and shoes--things that have to "fit"--online, without first trying them on. Took a chance on these dress boots and, WOW! What a pleasant surprise. They fit like a glove, make my (size 12) feet look small, and are as soft as real leather.

Don't hesitate to order a pair of these if your shoe size is consistent and doesn't vary among manufacturers. Your size is this company's size. And for this price I dare you find a Dexter or name-brand that's better in quality and comfort.

VINE VOICEon March 4, 2014
This may not be apparent, because of the way this listing describes the shoe. And a search on the web finds the shoe to be similarly (and falsely) misrepresented.

These are vinyl shoes. Vinyl shoes do not breathe. This is more important for men than women typically. My feet come out of these shoes smelling like rotten cheddar cheese.

They should clearly say these have "Man Made Uppers". Instead they say it has a leather lining, and another listing says it has a leather insole.

If you are careful enough to scroll down and carefully examine the extended description you will see they have "faux" leather uppers, which is vinyl crap.

As a result, the shoes do not last or break in. Leather breaks in, gets softer and expands over time. Vinyl does not.

The only advantage of this shoe is that it is more waterproof because vinyl is more waterproof. Unfortunately, because they come apart after minimal use between the sole and the upper, any advantage is lost.

These were in the trash within a month. They do look great out of the box though. The fake leather actually looks somewhat real until you touch it.

At the price, there are plenty of good shoes made from leather. There is NEVER a reason to buy a vinyl shoe, at least not for men.

I purchased the Alpine Swiss dress ankle boots to add to my collection of staple shoes to have in a closet. The shoes are great and I did not have any problems with them. I rarely wear dress boots ... let alone dress shoes and these shoes fit the bill. They are great looking and also can be used casually with jeans too. Great price!

Can be worn casually or dressy-- the perfect boot. My boyfriend loved it. The material is very luxe for the price.

Look nice and are comfortable but back seam is starting to come apart after three weeks of use. Would love them otherwise.

I work in a restaurant 6 days a week and I walk almost non stop 6 days a week, 8 hours a day and these shoes have treated me great! Unfortunately because of how much I walk, the soles have holes in them and the sole on the right shoe has separated. But because of how much I loved them the first time and they are still a great price, I will be buying another pair.

Upon receiving these shoes, I expected them to be heavy or just not right. I was proven wrong however, these shoes are lightweight, and the color (brown) met my expectations. Nonetheless these shoes are worth the price. I do not regret this purchase, I recommend this purchase to anyone who wants that "classy" look whether for casual or formal wear.

I got a ton of compliments. Also, fast shipping! :)

Good style, nice fit, comfortable and lightweight chukkas for everyday wear with suit or jeans. A level up from athletic shoes.
