While AlpineAire Foods state in their titles that they are gluten free, the back of the packaging needs to be seen. The packaging for AlpineAire Foods Fresh Cut Green Beans Almondine (Gluten Free) actually states on the back that food is processed at facility that processes peanuts, tree nuts, wheat and gluten, among other high-risk items for those with dangerous allergies.

I have no problem with the food itself, but I don't have an allergic reaction to wheat or gluten. If you feed this to a child with an allergy to nuts, wheat or gluten, the consequences could be deadly. Likewise, if ingested by an adult with such an allergy, it would be less than pleasant to put it mildly...especially if this food is ingested while hiking or camping.

If you're just looking for a healthy alternative to snack food or something to throw into the backpack before trekking, this is a great option. However, please keep in mind where it's processed if this is desired for someone with an allergy to nuts, wheat or gluten. Thanks!
