How can I describe how much I love this song?

I LOVE "Only Wanna Be With You" by Hootie & the Blowfish...but this is better!

I can't stand all the "pop" music they ram down our throats on country radio. There's a few new country artists, but...Darius is better!

Figures it would take a former pop mega-star to bring back great country songs like this! (And he has a bunch of hits.) I remember when they first started playing it. I had no idea who Darius Rucker was, because I was already listening to country radio and CDs when H&B came on the scene, so OWBWY is the only "Hootie song" I'd ever heard. I COULD NOT STOP LISTENING TO THIS SONG! I mean literally, though singing along (I'm female) killed my voice, I remember one day listeing to it FIVE TIMES IN A ROW on five different country stations. I ALWAYS turn the radio up and sing along to this song! ALWAYS! This is not a song you'll ever get tired of!

It should go without saying, this was a HUGE #1 mega-hit for him, shooting straight to top in a couple weeks and staying there for quite some time!

He combines fantastic songwriting with his full baritone and unique, rhythm-focused way of singing to refresh country music and remind us why we love it!

Other Darius Rucker (a.k.a. "Hootie") favorites are "Comeback Song," "That Don't Mean I Don't Think About It," and his newest release, "Wagon Wheel" (which is actually a combo-cover of 2 songs, one, released, whose title I don't remember, and "Wagon Wheel," which was never released by the original artist).

I accidentally ran across a TV show hosted by Darryl Hall (of Hall & Oates), featuring Darius Rucker and Darryl's band playing Alright. It was an immensely catchy song. Darius's recording however, is so much more blase. It has the same old twangy steel guitar licks in every other country western song, and the harmonies were the exact same typical harmonies featuring that country sound, whereas on the show, Hall's harmonies with Rucker were more biting and unique. I would have much rather had the other rendition! It's a good song, though...and Rucker continues to have a very pleasing voice that makes a melody cut the surrounding music.

I love the flow and the beat of the song, and of course his voice is so soulful. I am becoming a real fan of Darius.
