Low Flow but High Performance,

This review is from: Alsons 657CBX Fluidics Water Saving Shower Head with Flow Control Lever, Chrome (Tools & Home Improvement)
I went from a Speakman with the flow control washer removed to this, so I expected to go from one extreme to the other. But the flow on this is surprisingly good. I bought this one instead of the Delta only because they looked exactly the same and I think they are the same, as Delta bought Alsons, but this was a few dollars less.
What's interesting is that even though I can literally feel the significant water quantity difference, I'm using far less water and not missing anything. I'm trying to be ecologically conservative, and this shower head let me save substantial water volume and at the same time it allows for a fast shower with good pressure. It feels much stronger than what I imagined 4 jets would produce; it diffuses the water well so it doesn't concentrate in 4 spots and hurt. If you are switching from a "regular" shower head, especially one with a flow control mechanism, there is a good chance that this will be an improvement in the overall shower experience, while saving lots of water. Don't forget to wrap the spout with teflon tape before you screw this in or you may have water leaking.

In case you're wondering as I did Delta and Alsons both use this same technology. You can get a chrome version of this same shower head branded delta at Lowes.
I previously had the Delta 75155 1.6 GPM Water-Amplifying Showerhead, Chrome and wasn't entirely satisfied. It worked great close to the shower head for getting shampoo out of my hair, but when it came to rinsing soap off of my legs the spray had expanded to such a large radius that it was more of a mist and took a while to rinse. This style however is much better. The 4 outlets distribute the water in much narrower radii compared to the single, such that it actually works well both close and far. I hardly have used the 2.5gpm flow feature as the 1.85gpm is more than adequate. Nobody is going to complain about this shower head. The 2.5gpm setting is like opening the flood gates and creates a great massaging shower, but the actual rinse really doesn't seem any different. Installation was straight forward and easy. The rubber gasket sealed without any teflon tape. I added a soap up valve to it to further control the flow and save more water. I've since added an alsons diverter valve so I could add a handshower. All in the same matching finish. In short this is a water saving shower head that works well.

I am tired of energy/water-saving showerheads. So many say they put out a lot of water, but when you try them, they have a paltry amount of water coming out. How can you feel like you can take on the day when you always start your mornings with a crummy shower from a cheap showerhead?
This showerhead is one of the few that seems to defy the "water-saving" law. The shower puts out so much water on its high setting that you are left thankful it doesn't put out even more water. Strangely, the showerhead is very quiet compared to many other showerheads which try to maximize the feel of the water. Although the price appears to have recently raised, this Alsons showerhead is a great buy for the money. Enjoy your shower for a change and stop putting up with the dumpy showerheads hotels use. UPDATE: After more than a year of use, this showerhead is the one item I and my wife most enjoy about getting out of bed every morning. We generally leave it on its high setting except when shaving. It calms us down at night and wakes us up in the morning. This showerhead is strangely super-resistant to calcium clogging. We have some calcium deposits at the circular edge of the black center area you see in the picture, but nothing near the water vents and definitely nothing affecting water flow.

All I have to say is: wow. I've purchased some random cheap "uses air to increase pressure" showerheads before, and always found them to be barely noticeable at best, but this is an entirely different beast. The pressure is so strong I can't even leave it on the 2.5 GPM setting for very long, and the 1.85 GPM setting is more than enough to get the job done. Even if you aren't trying to save water, this turns an otherwise poor shower into a great one.

Efficient and Economical showerhead,

It's a very efficient showerhead. My wife complained that the 1.85 mode was too little pressure to properly wash her hair but she was coming from a showerhead that was not regulated to the 2.5GPM. So, this was a bit of a change.
The velocity of the water can be high such that the spray will go back up. My wife made mention about this, I have not noticed it as being a problem. I notice that the spray can sting the skin on the 2.5GPM setting. It is possible to set a GPM between the 1.85 and 2.5 but it's a little tricky. Overall I really like it and I like how it's saving hot water usage with my kids taking showers at night.

my water bill has dropped and I feel like i'm still getting the same shower pressure. It has the ability to go to extremely low flow which is great while I lather up. My wife and I used to run out of water when we both showered at the same time or right after each other. We had guest in town last weekend and 4 people showered consecutively, still had hot water at the end. Highly recommend.

Awesome performance, unbeatable value,
This review is from: Alsons 657CBX Fluidics Water Saving Shower Head with Flow Control Lever, Chrome (Tools & Home Improvement)
I've had this shower head for about 8 months and can't say enough about how great it is. Attach in moments and enjoy a comfortably higher-pressure shower accompanied by the satisfaction of saving water at the same time. The spray feels even and comfortable, rinses soap quicker than its high-volume predecessor, and though I can perceive some air noise when I think about it, it's not enough to be bothersome. A great shower head at a fair price, even apart from the low-flow benefits. I'm actually requesting my city's "green department" make them available to all households, starting with low-income families who'd benefit most from the savings. A boost to our economy and long-term reduction of our utility burden.

I have gone through a couple of water saving shower heads. My water supply is a well with moderately low pressure, so our showers are generally dribbles. This shower head is the opposite. It feels like those that put out four gallons a minute. When our water pressure fluctuates, it is hardly noticeable since the shower head uses much less water that our well produces. I am definitely buying another one for our other bathroom.

My biggest concern was whether my wife would like it and she does! It did not come with instructions about the lever but I can only assume it regulates the water from a full 2.5 GPM to the reduced 1.85 GPM.

Have used Oxygenics in the past but the latest one (Five Star Resort Spa Series) sounds like a freight train. Researching your site and others I happened across this shower head and purchased it. Wow!! Same pressure if not even better but the sound is more like a rain head and very quiet. I think I found my new favorite shower head. Good quality, finish, pressure, and best of all is quiet.
