There is one spray pattern, no massage, and it is not as comfortable as the $12 unit it replaced, which had multiple patterns. But, there are very few hand held showers with pause controls, and sometimes that is very important.

We purchased it to bathe our several dogs because shower heads always land spray-side-up. That trickle valve really helps when you are wrestling a 100 pound wet dog and need to turn off the water easily.

The 5 ft hose is not long enough for dogs down in the tub so I used the 6 ft hose from the previous shower head.

The pause control is useful for people, too. I wish more hand helds had this simple feature.

This is the second of these showerheads I've purchased. (The last one was left behind in the house we sold.) Briefly, it's a durably-constructed, basic handheld shower, with a single spray pattern and a pause button. Yes, it's plastic, but it's not the flimsy stuff I've seen in other units. Further, the plastic doesn't corrode or show water spots, and the rub-clean nozzles are easy to clear of scale. The pause button is nice when bathing dogs or small children.

Unlike one other review here, I've had no experience with it leaking.

Finally, this one is (as of this writing) made in the USA. It's the only American-made one I've seen.

A real good unit, not only saves water but dosen't spray the water all over the shower walls and bounce it over the curtain and onto the floor.
