I purchased this from Amazon and really feel it's a great deal for the money. I've used it extensivly and it works very good. You really feel safe on the roof or anywhere it's used, IF used properly. You must use it properly for your saftey. It comes complete with all you probley would need. You must read the instructions carefully and secure it properly for safe use. It's a must for getting on your roof and is a VERY good value for the money. Your life depends on this item and everyone should use one if on a roof properly. Get it!

The fall protection kit worked great. I have an extremely steep roof. I haven't done any roofing in about ten years, and I've never before worked on a roof so steep that I felt the need for a rope and harness. I felt completely secure up there... that is, after I figured out how it all worked.

The instructions are, at the same time, overly complicated and missing basic information. The complication is mainly due to required liability, legal mumbo-jumbo. The lack of clear cut basic information is just wrong. Other than following the pictures on the box there was nothing indicating which way the shock-absorbing lanyard should attach and very little on how the harness works. Those aren't the biggest issues, though. The proper use of the actual fall-arresting ascender is more of a problem. It needs to be noted that your weight cannot be on the device while down-climbing. If you pull on the device itself, it will slip down the rope. This may be obvious to those who have used these before, but not to the uninitiated. Pulling on the rope is fine, and necessary; the device will hold. Grab the body of the device on the way down and it comes with you. Hold the rope, not the device. Be careful.

I tested out the whole system hanging barely above the ground before going onto the roof. So, I sorted out these issues before they could have been dangerous.

If you've never worked on roofs or done climbing with ropes, I would not recommend this package. Instead, get a pro to do the work. Too many serious accidents occur to take the risk.

Nice, simple system for roof safety, I feel much safer on my steep roof slopes for service work, I permanently installed a double sided peak ridge anchor to always be able to lock in safely for house service work. It all fits back in the bag, the harness strapping can be a little confusing at first but I figured it out quickly, the ascender works smoothly & the price is good - I feel confident enough to use it in lean back rappeling position!

Whether you feel the need for extra safety, or for OHSA compliance, this is a neat kit with all the essential components. The harness is very basic - no comfort liners in this model ! And no extra D-rings for positioning or retrieval. You do get a 100' rope, which is twice the length of competing products. The lanyard and shock-absorber comes as a integrated unit with a total length of 6'. Useful for moving about, but you need to factor this into calculating your fall distance. For instance, it could mean that the rope grab is way above your head when it comes to descend.

This kit provided everything I needed to protect myself from a fall. It has a sturdy harness and rope. You are given an anchor which may or may not be attached in the "recommeded" manner but I found it quite sturdy when attaching it to solid lumber wherever I could find it.

I've also attached it to a Man Lift. It does have a large amount of play between point A and point B of your fall. Which I imagine would be quite a jolt when the slack is taken, but would be far better than slamming into the ground.

I believe the superior retractable type lines are far more expensive than this system so I found it a good comprimise between price and function. I also felt a whole lot more secure and comfortable attached to something. The harness takes getting used to because there are so many straps. Once I got it down though I can slip into it in about a minute.

It seems to be an excellent product - very well made and very heavy duty. The harness was a bit of a problem figuring out, but once you do, it seems obvious. All in all I would recommend it for the peace of mind it affords in high working situations.

excellent quality, quick to setup and will hold over 210 lbs. easy to use after initial setup. Recommended for people who do roofing projects and or maintenance on roof with steep angles.

That is very good. We had bought one set at Home Depot but it is NOT strong like this one.
We would recmendation for someone need it should buy the set like this, and it is very good price.

Fortunately, I did not find out how well this product does its job. Once you get it adjusted properly you almost don't notice it anymore. Having everything you need to get started arrive in one reusable bag is very convenient. It's worth the price to know that if you do have an accident it's likely to hurt rather than kill.

The harness was easy to adjust and set up. It feels safe but I'm not looking at testing anytime soon.
