4.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight & Comfortable: Great for a long work shifts.
I bought this boot for work as an EMT pulling long shifts in a unit all day (no station) so I keep them on pretty much all the time I am working. A very lightweight design with a straight sidezip (curved sidezips will eventually break) these boots are very comfortable to wear and provide excellent support for your ankles and solid traction with the sole.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lasted about a year and NOT a "Hot" weather boot
I bought these boots about a year ago as they were touted as being "hot" weather boots designed to keep your feet cool in hot weather. I'd never heard of Altama boots but decided to take a chance. BIG mistake. As a LEO in southern Louisiana whose on my feet for twelve hours, I need a boot that can stand up to the rigors of my job and keep my feet happy. These boots failed...

My only negative point is that the toe and side stitching seems weaker than my old Magnum boots as a few spots of visible fraying have already developed within the 6 weeks I've owned the boots.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great boot!, January 12, 2010
I have worn a pair of these for 6 months, mostly for hiking, backpacking, and outdoor work. I can't believe how small they look, and how light they feel, since I wear a size 12. The only negative was that I was told they were waterproof, but they are not! Still, with some silicone spray, they repel water well, and dry quickly. I wouldn't wear them in the cold, since they don't feel hot in the summer heat.

I recommend this seller debuena quality boots, economic and very tough and timely in the delivery. They are comfortable and have done many activities resistant and have smoothly passed the tests.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lasted about a year and NOT a "Hot" weather boot, June 29, 2011

These boots failed in that regard. At nearly a year, the Velcro on the side-zip gave up being "sticky" and would frequently unstick itself and the flap would poke the side of my pants causing a bulge that would rub my leg when I walked. Shortly after buying these boots, I put in custom made Dr. Scholl's Arch Supports to double the comfort of these boots but to no avail. My feet routinely ached and were "hot" at the end of the day when I took them off. Some hot weather boot. The other day I had to run through a rather large puddle after one of southern Louisiana's notorious downpours and my feet got soaked. Yes, I know these boots are not waterproof but they never thoroughly dried out and stunk to high heaven after wearing them again. Needless to say, they were trashed and replaced with a pair of Bates Ultra Lites 8" Side-Zips the next day. Don't waste your time (and money) on no-name brands that claim to be "hot" weather boots. Altama LITESpeed's aren't worth any price.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for my personal comfort, June 9, 2011

These boots came in on time and were well packaged from the seller. The label stated made in China and man made materials. The laces go through vertical holes in the upper part of the boot which I found hard to deal with. Tried the boots on and I felt like I was walking on a rock. I am not sure what type of surface I would have to be on to be comfortable but my living room rug was not it. Contacted the seller to return the boots. Seller was pleasant and receptive to my wishes. I felt that the boots might break in in time but I was afraid that my feet would break in first.
