The Altay Scientific Asexual Torso Model is a life-size asexual human torso model with removable internal organs, a sectioned head, a dissected neck, and an open thorax and abdomen, is made from hand-painted polyvinyl, includes a key to identify major anatomical structures, and comes with a three-year warranty. The head is sectioned and the neck is dissected through the ventral surface to show muscular, glandular, vascular, and neural structures. The open thorax and abdomen provide an unrestricted view of internal organs and their associated structures. Anatomical structures of the major body systems are numbered and identified on the accompanying key.
The model is made from hand-painted polyvinyl and is mounted on a rigid plastic base. Removable components of the Altay Scientific Asexual Torso Model include the following: half of the brain divided along the longitudinal fissure to expose internal structures and blood vessels; eye with optic nerve and extraocular muscles; trachea (18-part model only); descending thoracic aorta and esophagus; right and left lungs (2 parts each) showing the bronchial tree and vasculature; liver with gallbladder; half of one kidney sectioned along the frontal plane to show the internal structure and vessels; 2-part heart showing the atria, ventricles, and cardiac valves, and sectioned through the ventricular heart wall; stomach; pancreas, duodenum, and spleen with vessels and ducts; small and large intestine with removable window in caecal region; and a removable cover in the groin area (18-part model only). The model comes with a pictorial CD-ROM that details additional features.
Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in engineering, aeronautics, robotics, energy, chemistry, physics, biology, and geology.
Altay Scientific manufactures products for the study of anatomy, biology, physics, chemistry, and medicine, as well as data loggers and laboratory furniture and equipment. The company, headquartered in Italy, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards 9001 and 14001.
