This review is from: Altec Lansing ACS33BW Music & Gaming Speaker (White, or Black) (Personal Computers)
I brought the "Altec Lansing ACS33" speaker system for my wife as a Christmas present. Up to that point she had a pair of cheap kit speakers that were included in the box with her CD-ROM and sound card; both of which have been long since discarded. The "Altec ACS33"speaker systems were reasonable priced at Best Buy, and lucky for me they were in stock only three days shy of Christmas morn.
Just an aside: The sound quality of speakers is directly related to the quality of the sound card they are mated with. A cheap card will undoubtedly introduce hiss and other noise into the music especially at higher volumes and during quite passages.
Well, I happy to report that they were well worth the money I paid for them. The sound quality is great; the highs are crisp and clear, and the lows are full of heavy bass. Midrange of course is somewhat muted, but acceptable for speakers at this price point, plus the computer' sound card lacks controls for bass and treble, thus limiting our control over the sound. But the sound is 100% better than her old speakers and she loves them, Sade (my wife's favorite artist), has taken on new life because of the Altec ACS33'.
So, if you are looking for a reasonably priced with great sound quality, you would do well to give the "Altec Lansing ACS33" speaker system a listen.
