For a very inexpensive price, these speakers perform as well as can be expected. They're not high-end, and they don't sound like it. But they're not bad, either. The bass speaker is larger than I expected it to be, about an 8" cube, so it took up a bit more space than I would have liked. Probably had I read the specs a little better I would have known that. The two smaller speakers are very light weight and tend to move around when the cord gets bumped or pulled. Controls are convenient except the power switch, which is on the back of the bass box.

it's not the best speaker you can get, but it's definitely the best you can get for under 20$
has a headphone jack and an aux input on the speaker which is convenient, a volume, bass and treble jogs in front and also has a small sub-woofer unit for bass don't expect anything great in terms of sound, but it is reliable and looks good! also, note that this requires electricity - not usb powered!

I got these speakers for around 8 dollars and they have been amazing. The sound is really good. It isn't the best like dolby speakers but for 8 dollar who cares. It is nice since you can directly hook up your iPOD to the speaker thru aux port. There is also a speaker port for anytime you just want to use your headphones. Overall, I recommend them for anyone looking for good cheap speakers

These were about 30$. My son's using them on his computer in his room. They're more than adequate. The sound is pretty impressive. Bass is pretty clean. The ipod "docking station" is pretty useless. Just a piece of plastic you can rest the ipon on. Would have been better to have included a wire, but it's convenient to have the socket to plug into.

I bought these to replace my older 121WW speakers. Since getting them I have no complaints.

My fiance and I had been looking for a set of Zune speakers/dock for at least a year until I decided "Screw it, a set of PC speakers will do!"
I bought these locally on that very whim and I have been seriously impressed to the point where I bought two sets. One for the kitchen and one for the bathroom. They pump MORE than enough sound to fill a room with NO distortion while providing great sound quality. I wasn't expecting 5.1 sound out of these. I expected the same kind of crap sound I get out of the speakers I'm used to on my eMachines POS. It's not 5.1 - but who needs that for wanting to fill a single room? I've now been able to enjoy my podcasts while either in the shower or doing dishes. I can't rave about this set enough! If you're looking for MP3 player speakers look no further, these will EASILY meet that demand. Don't waste your money on some speaker dock thing regardless of your MP3 player. You will not be dissapointed... and this coming from one hell of an audiophile :)

Great Sound, Bad Hardware,
This review is from: Altec Lansing BXR1121 2.1 PC Music and Gaming Speaker (Personal Computers)
I bought these speakers about three months ago specifically for the AUX port they offered. I planned to use them with my Xbox 360 along with an HD monitor that I bought. The setup works great. I also have a laptop that's built in speakers aren't that great (as expected), but they are Altec's as well. So I use the speakers to play music when I'm not using them to play Xbox.
If you're buying these for a similar reason know that you can't have both plugged in and on at the same time. I had hoped to just leave them plugged in, so I wouldn't have to continuously plug and unplug the audio cables, they even advertised it as if you could leave them both plugged in. But if you do plug them both in at the same time, no sound comes out, just a little static. It makes sense to me why one set of speakers can't accept from two sources at the same time, but that's how it was advertised. If I wanted to keep plugging in and unplugging my audio cables, I'd have spent more money on a more expensive set, maybe one that didn't have an AUX port. Besides this small setback they speakers have wonderful sound. Decent bass, and for a small and cheap package can go pretty loud without sacrificing quality. My room mate has the same set and loves them. But there is a reason I gave them only 2 stars. For a few weeks now the right speaker has been cutting out at random. Though they fix themselves if I unplug and replug in the audio cable into my laptop. This is, however, only a temporary solution, since they'll cut out again anywhere from seconds to hours later. They were good speakers, but not recommended due to bad hardware.

good price for the sound quality you get. now for the nit picking. the 2 speakers are very light so I put 2 way tape on the bottom of the one with the volume knob so it would stay in place when i turned the knob.

I bought this speaker set for $25 at Wal-Mart when a friend and I wanted to play tunes from our iPods whilst spending the night at a hotel and had no stereo on hand. This speaker set is IDEAL for situations where you need a solid and economical close-range audio solution for your iPod or PC. The satelites have decent range and the sub performs nicely. Currently, I have the audio from my DVD player in my living room run through these. No, it's not 5.1, no, it won't rattle the windows, but it provides a nice bump in audio quality from the built-in stereo speakers in my TV and even without a remote, I honestly have no gripes, not even about the power switch being on the back (I actually like the robust feel of the small rocker switch, it feels like the power switch on a good guitar or bass amp) . I generally just leave it on and the volume at consistent level. For under $30, can you really complain?
