For the amount of money Altec Lansing is asking I'd much rather get a pair of better sounding Sennheisers.

I ordered these earphones for one reason. That reason is a reason that is currently lost on earphone producers of late. That is the inclusion of the "L" plug or "L-shaped" jack. I am like numerous folks out there that were upset when my favorite inexpensive earphones made by Jbuds (see JBuds Hi-Fi Noise-Reducing Ear Buds (Black)) decided to lose the "L" plug and go to the cheaper straight plug.

I keep my iTouch in a nice folio cover (which is even hard to find now; I prefer the ones that open like a book)and wrap my earphone cables around the case (see the pictures added here). With the straight plug, the earphones tend not to last long as the cable ends up getting tweaked. The "L" plug prevents this. Now onto the sound found with these earphones.

Like the Jbuds, these are comfortable. The sound was clear with good bass as well as mids and treble. I adjust my EQ on my iPod to my musical preferences and found no issues with these earphones. I cannot understand spending over $25 for earphones but that is just me. Perhaps it was way too many concerts back in the day and my ears cannot tell the difference.

For $20, you cannot go wrong here. As for durability, I question those who had their earphones go bad so quickly. They tend to sound like my younger brother who destroyed everything far sooner than I did including my original Aiwa cassette player with AM/FM radio.....but I digress......

Hope this helps some of you out there!!

I wouldn't know good headphones if I tripped over them. I just use the ones that came with my ipod. My son thinks I'm crazy for not keeping these for myself. He LOVES them and loves the sound and bass he gets from them. Another great thing is that they don't cut in and out like the apple ones do and both earbuds still work after two months. Fantastic!

A little over 30 days (just past the return policy date), the left channel on these headphones gave out. I got them at a Best Buy for $15, so it's really not all that cost-effective to try to get my money back for them anyway.

But when they did work, they weren't satisfactory. The sound was very tinny and the headphones had to be seated in perfectly or else the sound quality dropped sharply. Cheap headphones give cheap sound.

These headphones are extremely comfortable and deliver excellent sound quality. I was really shocked at how well they worked. I like these as much as my very expensive Shure headphones.

Verified Purchase
Well I just recently got these headphones today and man altec lansing never disappoints me this is my second pair from them, my first pair is still fine and working just wanted to try out their other headphones and these are awesome really good sound and bass. These definitely are a good buy, the sound of these are especially really good when you actually have a good mp3 player with it and as myself i would rather go with quality then with hype so these are perfect with a zune hd which i have and not ipods. Ipods aren't good for sound quality!

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I have three sets of noise reducing earbuds. Why ? Because I can't remember to bring headphones from one thing to the next. I keep one set at the bedside, one in a pouch in my purse and another next to my laptop/sewing area. I have the Altec Lansings, a pair of Senheisers and a pair of Sony. All are similarly priced at time of purchase. I like these Altecs for seeping with music. The buds are the most comfortable for my sensitive tiny ear canals and seem to block more noise than the other two. I also keep them there because they have no carry case and no extension wire. The other two earbuds have cases and extension cords so that they can be shortened up when appropriate and they won't wrap around stuff in my bag. They all sound good and all have held up to some rough use.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
Overview
From a design standpoint they are pretty nice. The best feature is probably the way they fit in your ear. They come with three silicon pads for different ear sizes. Once you get the right sized pad on they fit tightly and comfortably in your ear, better than a lot of other ear buds I have used.

The cords are pretty standard for headphones, the plug is the standard 90 degree angle with a reinforced end.

Sound Quality
I've been using some ear bud type headphones with my Ipod and computer. I was excited about the in ear design (never really had a pair like that) hoping for better sound quality. I wasn't impressed with the final result. The output at the base frequencies was much better than the earbuds but the mid to high tones were not as good. This was especially true on the Ipod more than the computer. Overall I consider them not as good as others I have used.

Pro's
Flexible comfortable Fit

Cons
Acceptable but not wonderful sound quality

Conclusion
A serviceable set of headphones but you can probably find better.

When using earbuds, my main concern is comfort. I want something that fits my ear and doesn't pop out (like stock iPod buds). These worked very well as I was able to get a comfortable fit with them. The sound quality was fine, but honestly I am not looking for great sound when I use earbuds. Usually I am using my earbuds when I am moving around. At other time I rely on my headphones.

If you are looking for a comfortable pair of earbuds these are a good choice.
