From the Manufacturer
Players of Guitar Hero®, DJ Hero®, and Rock Band® know that television speakers don't always capture the thrill of a rock and roll performance. The Stage-Gig provides a solution by recreating the electric feel of a live concert.
With the look and feel of a professional stage amp, the Stage-Gig kicks out 40 watts of crushing power as well as monstrous bass, thanks to its 6.5-inch, high-performance sub-woofer. A specially engineered horn-loaded silk tweeter provides wide dispersion to make each player sound like a pro. The Stage-Gig works especially well with multi-instrument games, where the drums and vocals are often lost when heard through traditional TV speakers.
Compatible with Most Game Consoles
Designed for use with just about any gaming systems, including Microsoft® Xbox 360®, Nintendo Wii® and Sony® PlayStation® 2 & 3, the Stage-Gig plugs in to your game console using two sets of RCA cables (one set is included). For ultimate stereo sound, the built-in AC outlet and RCA outputs give you the option of plugging in a second Stage-Gig speaker (sold separately).
Durable and Road-Ready
With a grab-and-go handle, you'll quickly be staging heart-pounding concerts wherever you go. The Stage-Gig features a tough and durable design with corner guards that will withstand the perils of the road. Convenient inputs, rugged knobs, and cool LED lights will turn any room in the house into a live music venue.
What's in the Box
Stage-Gig portable amplified speaker, 10-inch RCA cable, and quick connect guide.
40 watts of power and Audio Alignment™ technology ensure that multi-instrument performances come through loud and clear.

That being said, I bought this product for use in my kitchen. I plug in the phone/MP3 player for tunes while cooking.
Here's my evaluation -
Very well built. Weighs about 11 lbs. with a good grab handle, permanently attached AC line cord and a 2 prong AC outlet built in to the back. Rubber corner cushions so you don't get chipped corners from throwing it in the trunk or scooting it on concrete. At 11 lbs. I suspect there is a weight added internally to give it heft, but it works, so no complaints.
Haven't checked for noise floor, will update review when I get around to it. Need to find my reference mic...
Good sound clarity, nice crisp highs, rich mids with surprising bass response for a $40 powered speaker.
Sound output is very good, bearing in mind it's 40 watts. Good for a stage monitor on a stand in a small venue or even main speaker in a VERY small venue, depending on the music and instruments. Obviously if thrash metal is your thing, this isn't for you.
Parallel outputs for daisy chaining, with switchable Left/Right.
Slight AC hum. Not noticeable when music is actually playing, but it's there. I mentally flipped a coin over this and decided to keep it.
RCA jack inputs - I'd prefer 1/4" jacks, but then this thing was specifically designed for use in a game room with an Xbox. I'm sure that for that purpose it excels.
Heavier than it needs to be, though it probably contributes to the bass response by adding mass to the cabinet.
The sound is top notch. Very clear highs without being "piercing". And the bass is rich and full without being "thumpy". I purchased 2 of these because you can daisy chain them together. Each speaker can be easily switched from a blended stereo coming from one speaker or you can configure the speaker to be a left or right channel. Very nice feature, plus each speaker has an outlet to power the next speaker. Two of these speakers configured as a stereo sound amazing.
I have been showing it off to friends and they are impressed.
I initially hooked an ipod up to the speakers and was disappointed with the lack of volume. After that experiment, I hooked up a small pa mixer, plugged in a mike and guitar (to the mixer) and hooked up the stage gig speakers - not bad! I got fairly good volume for a small venue. The sound was not what you would get from a $500 plus pa system, but it projected well in a small room and was very clear. It was not muddy, muted or mid-range sounding.
A couple caveats - you have to have a small pa mixer to plug in mikes and guitars and you need to make sure that the mixer has out jacks that will work with the speakers. Almost any mixer made for podcasting or related activities will do. The stage gig speakers have no guitar or mike jacks on them which requires the mixer.
I see these speakers as durable, jack of all trades devices that I can use for very small one man gigs, enhancing tv sound, or hooking up to radios and other devices.
So yeah, not the best, but the best for the price considering its unintended uses.
EDIT: Stupid thing broke on me. I might have blown the sub, the tweeter is the only thing working. I guess I shouldn't play it so loud :c
