Better than expected,
By S. Money "Supergrade7" (Navarre, FL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Altec Lansing XA2021 Powered Speaker System for Gamers (Personal Computers)
I bought these speakers as an upgrade to replace the speakers that were included with my computer system. Of course, I must point out that computer speakers are very lame to say the least. The satellite speakers produce excellent sound quality along with the input of the subwoofer. The subwoofer really makes the difference with this set. I received a $20 rebate, which sweetened the deal. Even without the rebate, I believe you will be very pleased with the quality of the speakers and there performance.

Great Speakers, Great Price,
This review is from: Altec Lansing XA2021 Powered Speaker System for Gamers (Personal Computers)
The speakers were on sale and I thought what the heck I'll give it a try. Comes with two satellite speakers that can be wall mounted and a subwoofer.Pros: Great for gaming consoles as it hooks directly into your Xbox, Playstation, Gameboy, and PC. The subwoofer has amazing base and gives you that umph that's needed when playing games. An added bonus to this was the fact that it comes with an auxiliary cable that can be hooked up to your ipod, walkman, or any other device that uses headphones. Hooked straight into my powerbook and played my music with a whole lotta bump. I watched Blackhawk Down on my Xbox and was amazed at the sound clarity. I also hooked it into my ipod Nano and was listening to great music when cranked to full blast. Figured out that I had a jack for headphones on my TV and was able to hook it into that as well. Cons: The length of the satellite speaker wires are too short to mount on far walls for the surround sound feel and the unshielded subwoofer requires you to place it 2 Ft. from TV or monitors. Overall: Wouldn't buy for the retail price of $49.99 but definitely well worth the sale price I picked them up for at $19.99. You could probably find them for even less.

Perfect for what I needed!,
This review is from: Altec Lansing XA2021 Powered Speaker System for Gamers (Personal Computers)
I don't have an elaborate game room setup but I needed something that would be an upgrade over using the TV speakers but yet it couldn't require the volume having to be up too high in order to hear the quality. For the price and based on the other reviews I decided to give these a try. They are awesome! My kids play games like Guitar Hero and Medal of Honor and instantly commented on the quality, especially the base. In the end it fit my needs perfectly.
