For the price, I'm very satisfied with this product. I was looking for something to play my iPod mini in my bedroom, (this particular one supports all iPods.)

For the price and size of the speakers, I find it to be surprisingly powerful. It's recommended to use within three feet while listening, but I have it across the room and it still sounds great.

The only thing that would make this item perfect would be if it had a remote. Similar products have them, but I was more interested in good sound quality without spending 200 dollars.

Overall, I would definitely recommend it.

I do a great deal of traveling, so not only is size an issue but weight is as well. I bought the IM11 because it packs well and it is very light. I also bought it to listen to in the motel room. The sound quality is great. Of course I'm not trying to blast out the other guests. It sets up quickly and painlessly. I've had it a few weeks with virtually no negative issues to discuss. If the IM11 lasts for a while I would highly reccomend it for the traveler. It fits right in your laptop case. For me the IM11 has been the perfect travel companion.

UPDATE: Sept. 04 2007. The speakers are still doing great. Still 5 stars.

I received this product for Christmas and was very pleased with the quality of sound. However, it has stopped working after less than two months. The support staff has been less than helpful determining what's wrong with it. It will still charge my iPod if I plug it in, but will not turn on to play music whether plugged into the wall or running off of batteries. While it was working, it sounded good (although I had a popping noise in-between songs with the video 30) and was so easy to take to work on casual day for tunes. I am disappointed it stopped working so quickly though. It isn't like it was carried everywhere or abused. It was transported in it's carrying case within a totebag once a week. The rest of the time, it was left plugged in at home. :(

this is a great speaker system for the price. the sound quality is very good (on moderate volume, i don't like music really loud). it comes with a handy carry bag and is small and lightweight. perfect for sitting on the deck or entertaining in the back yard.

I ordered an iM11 for my daughter to go with her new iPod Nano 4G. It has decent sound for a speaker dock at that price level, but I was unpleasantly surprised to find out that it wont charge the Nano. I'll have to get my daughter a different unit and keep this one as a spare. Avoid this is you have the new skinny Nano 4G.

Looking for a small set of speakers for my IPOD in my office, I found this little set of speakers by Altec Lansing. I set it up without reading the manual. Simply push the button, mount the IPOD and push the power button. A volume control in the upper right hand edge is simplicity in the making.

The volume is decent from a small set of speakers and no distortion is noted with various artists. I even watched a movie on the IPOD, while at work (SHHHH! It was at the end of the day, anyways).

The footprint is compact, with a glossy black finish. Construction is solid but I don't think it is impact resistant.

No remote control feature here.

However, if you need a compact set of speakers, this is the best value.

This product is great for travel. However, it does not come with the universal power supply with international plug set as it states on the Amazon description. When I did not see this missing item, I contacted the seller. They told me that Amazon made a mistake on its description, and it's not supposed to come with the international plug set. They told me to return the product, and they would replace with another kind. Overall though, it works perfect. Just do not order it if you want an ipod speaker player that works anywhere in the world.

My wife and I bought this for a simple, inexpensive, portable, way to listen to the music on our iPods at home. We weren't looking for a booming stereo sound, and didn't expect a miracle in quality. We got exactly what we wanted. The sound is big enough and loud enough to fill a small room - probably not enough sound to run a house party, and certainly not enough to make the windows shake, but enough to give a bit of atmosphere and enjoyment. The bass, of course, is weak but for alternative and indie rock and pop, jazz and classical, which is mostly what we listen to, the sound is adequate and faithful. It's certainly beats the more tinny and less expansive sound we get from our MacBook Laptop.

You can power it with 4 AA batteries or a plug. It folds up neatly and fits nicely in an included pouch, and then you can press a button that opens up the iPod mount and a stabilizing base. It's a simple design, with just a power on/off button, a sliding volume switch, and the iPod mount. To adjust any of the levels or sound balance, you've got to use whatever controls are installed on your iPod. We've used this with an iPod nano (3rd generation), which it charges directly, and also with an iPod touch, which it won't charge, but will interface with to play music. A good, inexpensive, portable stereo player for your iPod.

Very good buy for the money. Speakers were clear and had decent range.

My wife and I decided to purchase this for my baby boy's bedroom. The good news is for the price it's hard to beat. The cons are it DOES NOT charge my nano. This is a pain. The volume control is a little cheap and difficult to set to the right volume. Other than that I have no complaints. We may purchase another unit that can charge the iPod that will stay in his room and utilzie this one for traveling. I can't think of a better unit to use for traveling. It is small, light, and works pretty well.
