Put your headphones in storage and enjoy full freedom of movement while listening to your iPod with the Altec Lansing iM3c portable iPod speaker system. The iM3c comes with a built-in docking station that not only holds most dock-connecting iPods, but also syncs and charges them, so you don't need to independently connect your iPod to your Mac or PC to sync your iTunes playlists. More importantly, the speaker system sounds crisp and full bodied, with four custom-designed 1-inch neodymium microdrivers and an integrated MaxxBass system that rounds out the low- frequency response.

The iM3c is a must for backyard parties and beach barbecues, as it not only folds up into a compact 8-by-5.5-by1.1-inch footprint (W x H x D), but also runs for more than 24 hours on four AA batteries (not included). Other details include a wireless remote control; an auxiliary input for connecting a second audio device; a universal power supply for listening at home; an auto shutdown function; and a protective carrying bag for easy transport. Compatible with the iPod 3G, iPod 4G, iPod mini, iPod photo, iPod video, and iPod nano, the iM3c weighs a mere 15 ounces and is backed by a one-year warranty.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sound for such a little device!, October 26, 2006

(REAL NAME)
I was shopping for an iPod alarm clock, and finally got one, an iLive, but the sound was horrible. So I decided to just get some iPod speakers, and use the iPod's alarm function.

I brought my iPod into Target and set it on different speakers to see how it sounded. This one was one of the best sounding out of all of them. Sure the $250 were a little better, but this one seemed pretty close to me, and it's very small, and has a 24 hour battery life running on 4 AA's. You can also use the AC adapter for power.

It sounds great, and I'm very pleased with the size. The one from Best Buy had bad sound, and was big and bulky.

Another thing that is nice is that it also comes with a carrying case for traveling with it.

I'd definitely reccommend these speakers for your iPod!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great portable speaker, September 10, 2007

This review is from: Altec Lansing inMotion iM3C Portable Audio System for iPod (Black) (Electronics)
The sound quality of the IM3c is very good at the mid to low level. This speaker system is solely used in my office, so cranking it up too loud is not an option. Its compact size makes it easy to place virtually anywhere. One feature I really like is the volume stays the same after turning the unit back on after it has been shut down, unlike the "JBL On Stage".

3.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy if you have a Blackberry, December 27, 2007
This review is from: Altec Lansing inMotion iM3C Portable Audio System for iPod (Black) (Electronics)
The speakers are fine by themselves; however, I wanted them for my office, and my company also happens to issue Blackberries to employees. The speakers are apparently not "shielded", and therefore emits a loud "buzz" every time the Blackberry checks for messages or receives calls (every 3-5 minutes). Super annoying. Other than covering my phone in tinfoil, there's no way to stop it, so I will be returning the speakers for a higher quality shielded set.
