3.0 out of 5 stars Ego Trip is much better
This cd is okay, it is a standard remix cd through and through, nothing really special just some club mixes. Pick up if you're a die-hard Keoki fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not a bad track on here., May 24, 2000

This is a must have for all ego-trip fans and non ego-trip fans alike. Every song remixed has it's own flavor thanks to all the great remixers displayed. It is amazing to hear the differences between artists who made them, but also to the difference to the original songs. Must have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, July 8, 2005
This review is from: Altered Ego Trip (Remix Album) (Rmx) (Audio CD)
I'm still amazed about how a remix album could destroy the original. After hearing Altered Ego-Trip I wanted to trash my copy of Keoki's original.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Re-Mix album that proves it's worth., April 16, 2000
This review is from: Altered Ego Trip (Remix Album) (Rmx) (Audio CD)
This release is strictly a re-mix album of Keoki's "Ego Trip" CD. I gave high praise to `Ego Trip' and was worried about what I might find here. It has been my experience that re-mix albums rarely live up to the original. They are usually just watered down versions of the original tracks. They very rarely seem to be worth buying unless you are a die-hard fan. Now, there are exceptions to the rule. There are a few remix albums that do an amazing job to compliment the original recording.

As you can probably tell buy my rating, they did an excellent job on this album. When you look at the list of re-mixers it is a `who's who' of electronic music. There was only one re-mixer that I was unfamiliar with and that is a pretty good batting average. All in all this CD is awesome if you want host a house party or just swing your head in a rhythmic motion. The option is yours but I would recommend the party, chics dig groovy tunes. Trust me.

If you do decided to pick this CD up you might want to get the original release also. Ego Trip is an amazing release and it will make a great companion to this release. Techno is forever evolving but these two CDs are ahead of the trend.

I cannot really pick my favorite selections on this release because they all have supreme merit. The showcase the talents of so many different styles of Techno that you cannot pigeon hole them easily. Not that I would want to do that, but, it is inevitable. But you don't have to take my word for it, check it out and decide for yourself. :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Come on people, without Keoki this CD wouldn't be here!, November 25, 1998

Allright, allright. I'm sick of people who constantly kick Keoki arround, give the poor guy a chance! Anyway onto the CD... This cd is pretty rad. Theres some phunky remixes on this album by ak1200, Crystal Method (which is very mediocre compaired to their full lenth release ), Dj Dan ( Da Man!), and more. I love Dj Dan's work on "crash", hes an awesome breakbeat artist! and wow! Dara actualy does a remix that I enjoyed. If your looking for a good party cd, put down that "MTV's party to go" and pick this up!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ego-Trip beats!, November 23, 1998
This review is from: Altered Ego Trip (Remix Album) (Rmx) (Audio CD)
I haven't heard any of Keoki's previous music, but Ego-Trip is GREAT...not just one song, but all of them are good, and it isn't the same boring beat over and over...I recommend you try it.

5.0 out of 5 stars New and Improved, July 28, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Altered Ego Trip (Remix Album) (Rmx) (Audio CD)
Even if you're not into Keoki or didn't like Ego-trip, this remixed version is worth picking up. I personally prefer a lot of the remixed versions to the origial, and with Crystal Method, Rabbit in the Moon, Uberzone, DJ Dara and DJ Dan, you really can't lose. Some of the weaker Ego-Trip songs make for dope remixing material. I liked the original, but I have to say the altered version is phatter.

4.0 out of 5 stars This CD is pretty good, but "Ego-Trip" was better., July 24, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Altered Ego Trip (Remix Album) (Rmx) (Audio CD)

The best remix on this CD is undeniably Rabbit In The Moon's remix of "Caterpillar." The remix morphed smoothly throughout, and had interesting beats and sound effects.

Much of the cool parts of the original mixes in "Ego Trip" were drowned out by droning repetition like that of the "Madness" remix. To those out there who already have "Ego Trip," this remix album is quite entertaining still. But to those who don't, this album is still second banana.
