This is a unique double CD set. Stan Kenton Mellophonium Band alumni Ray Starling and Joel Kaye direct jazz bands augmented with full French horn sections. The 12 page booklet insert includes photos of the artists, Dr. Herb Wong's discussion of the Neophonic Movement and his overview of the music on hand.
Disc 1 consists of the New York Sound Stage One Orchestra Studio recorded (mono) in 1965 & 1966. Four vocals by Annette Sanders, a 1995 grammy ballot nominee.
Disc 2 consists of the New York Neophonic Orchestra Studio recorded (stereo) in 1976 & 1981. Three vocals by Broadway songstress Debbie Shapiro Gravitte.
