1.0 out of 5 stars Incorrect title?, July 26, 2009
This review is from: Alternative Digital Photography (Paperback)
See the word 'Photoshop' anywhere (apart from the tags I've just given)?

This is not a book on 'Alternative Digital Photography' perhaps a more appropriate title might be 'Basic Photoshop'.

Chapter 1 Creating Black & White from Colour

Lesson 1.1 Creating B & W with Photoshop Grayscale

1.2 with Photoshop desaturate

1.3 with Photoshop Lab Color Mode

1.4 etc

and this is the pattern for the bulk of the book.

Only in the latter chapters do we see an alternative -'infra-red images' -use a infra-red camera or hot mirror filter (or Photoshop, of course). Or 'using toy digital cameras' - I would think an area of incredible scope, but what lessons do we learn? 'Hold the camera steady', 'watch out for backlighting', 'some only work on Windows PCs, so if you use a Mac go out and buy an old Windows computer'.
