3.0 out of 5 stars Book review, November 12, 2006
This book offers a comprehensive overview of ADR from the lawyers perspective. It is written for lawyers. It contains in-depth discussions of Arbitration, Negotiation and Mediation, the biggies.

I used this book for a class I taught on ADR attended mostly by non-lawyers. I did not think is was a perfect text, but covered all of the essentials.

Alternative Dispute Resolution, before you go to court you must go to a Mediator. That is what this book is all about. Mediators are now being trained to work with people to help people solve problems before things get out of control, not only with the courts but in all walks of life. This book is only one of many which looks at ways of working with the courts and training mediators to work with the courts, organizations, agencies, schools, families, etc., so people can develop way of dealing with stress in constructive ways rather than destructive ways. This is part of the training for studying law since mediation is now required before going into court. An excellent resource book.
