Extra thick vertical panel book-ended by slim pickets decorate the center of each end of the desk and the backside in a classic Mission style. Sleek with a rich chocolate wenge finish, the desk fits into modern and traditional décor alike.
The desk is crafted out of engineered wood with paper laminate, which helps conserve forest lands. To further minimize the desk’s potential negative ecological impact, Altra Furniture’s construction process reduces the toxic emissions released into the environment. A sliding keyboard tray extracts from underneath the desktop, with extra space for a mouse and more. Upon delivery, the desk requires home assembly with common household tools. To complement the desk, a matching bookcase and file are available separately. Altra Furniture also offers this desk in a natural birch finish. Assembled, the desk measures 53 inches wide by 23-2/3 inches deep by 30 inches high. This item weighs 81 pounds upon shipping.

This is a case of you get what you pay for. The preassembled parts of the desk fit loosely and have gaps. The "wood grain" is a thin plastic film over particle board that arrived peeling off, and that shows scratches even from being wiped with a damp cloth. The poor-quality screws stripped out easily. The best thing about the desk was that assembly was easy, and it has nice lines. Unfortunately though, it won't last long and will need to be replaced.

I knew this was an inexpensive desk when I ordered it, but I expected more quality in the product then what I found.
The box the desk shipped in was in decent shape after going through UPS, however the overall product packaging is rather poor as two panels had noticeable scratched and one of the corners on the desktop is dinged up. The side and back panels are quite loose and the pieces are not aligned properly. From a distance the desk looks nice but as you get closer you can see all the flaws. The desk assembled in about 15minutes and the only required tool is a screwdriver. You can do a lot better at Ikea for only a few dollars more.

Good Price, delivered so soon over my expected.
But you need a good screwdriver to install this desk.
