TOTAL JUNK - DO NOT BUY!,
This review is from: Push-Up Stands (Sports)
I bought these to use with my P90X workouts. They broke on the second set of the FIRST DAY I used them while doing wide grip push-ups. The base just snapped sending me face first into the floor. Buy these at your own peril.

Effective, but poorly designed.,
This review is from: Push-Up Stands (Sports)
These push up bars are certainly effective: that isn't hard to achieve. Hence why most cost under twenty dollars. It doesn't really matter which you buy, as long as they aren't about to collapse under you. These are comfortable in my hands and don't slip around on the floor. However, they weren't designed particularly well: the two pieces that sit on the floor are made of plastic, not metal. Two of the four (each bar has a pair of legs) were bent slightly, and to get the bars to sit flat on the ground involved twisting the push up bars a little more out of shape. I ended up with push up bars that work perfectly fine, but nonetheless they did not work fine without alteration by me.

These are so poorly made, in fact one is already broken. Don't waste your money.

Perfect for Push Ups,

As a Certified Personal Trainer I was looking for a product that would help my clients who have weak wrists or are just not as skilled at the proper push up form. These bars do the trick billiantly. Easy to assemble -- one screw, they are sturdy enough to support even my heaviest clients. They have just the right amount of padding to cushion the hands, but not feel squishy.
I highly recommend this product!

I got these to add range of motion during pushups. I thought it would be great since they were so inexpensive and it isn't a necessity in my work out. I recieved them and the first day they bent and snapped. Would never recomend these to anyone.

Not sure why the bad reviews but maybe they just got a lemon. These push up stands are sturdy and I've had no problems using them for my P90X workout.
Definitely good value.

I like these things, but the foam grips got compressed after a lot of use, however that's not really a big deal and it's nothing to be surprised about.

I bought these early in 2011 after vigorous fall leaf-raking left my aging wrists sore. They were pretty comfortable and let me get back to my routine of two sets of 60, three times a week. But after about 10 months of use (with a few gaps, of course), one of the stands broke at the T-joint, just below where the plastic feet slide into the metal handles and are secured by a thumbscrew. Looks like a simple case of plastic fatigue. My wrists have recovered, so I guess I'll just go back to the traditional hands-on-the-floor style. If I ever need to buy another set of push-up stands, I'll definitely spring for ones that are all metal.

Plastic trash,

I went cheap with this purchase thinking anything was better than hands alone for my pushups. What a mistake. Any modification of a pushup (wide stance, narrow stance) causes the stands to get extremely wobbling. No amount of tightening on the plastic bolts would help. Eventually these stands broke on me at the base. Plastic snapped right in two. Now I am forced to spend more money to get better stands. Save for your money on these and get something better.

I weigh around 165 and these work just fine for me...barely. I feel that if I was 15-20 pounds heavier they may not hold up to the weight. The main, curved bar is metal, but it's thin and hollow. The cross bars are plastic. These are comfortable and do what they're supposed to do but if I was heavier I'd be worried about durability. Don't buy these if you weigh more than probably 175-180, but if you're less than that they should be okay
