I will admit, I have no grip strength so I like to use these when Im lifting heavy weights.

The padding is light but good and they are long enough so you can wrap them pretty good to dumbbells/bars.

As for the strap itself, I thing that its very well made, very durable, and I really like the padding.

1.5 inch wide straps made of nice, stiff heavy duty cotton with the ends caped and sewed so no fraying which was a nice touch.

Once they are secured on your wrist there is lot of strap to work with, about 8 inches, which I like so you can get a real nice cinch on the bar.

Replacing my favorite straps which were starting to tear after 10yrs or so.

These are my new favorite straps and as they are a lot like my old ones, well made with good material, they should last for years of continuous use.

The inner padding is a bonus.

Beware, there are lifting straps sold by Amazon that are thin, too short and made of cheap flimsy material... these are not those straps.

You will not be disappointed with these Altus lifting straps.

There are many similar products as these lifting straps, but these are the best price. They are well made, and the padding is an extra bonus. Other straps sell for the same price without padding, so this was a no-brainer.

I am very pleased with this product because i've had the opportunity to compare it with lifting hooks and these straps were much better. I am now able to deadlift over 400lbs, one arm row with 150lb dumbells and more.

I got these and they are not branded as Altus and just came in a ziploc bag. Also, seems more slippery than they should be.

I've been using a pair of Altus lifting straps since 2005 that were now getting frayed and worn. I ordered these thinking they would be the same quality. However, immediately when compared with my older Altus straps, I notice the logo is now different, the padding is actually nearly half thinner than the older straps, and that the cuts and sewing/stitching on the newer straps are so poor, that I cannot believe these got by quality control. Not only are the stitches not centered, but they are very shoddy and I feel that these won't even last me a few months.

They fit awkward compared to my last ones, they have thinner padding, and that the nylon is a lot cheaper and thinner than before. I get that everything is Made in China now, but so were my last pair of Altus straps. Those were even cheaper than what I paid for these on Amazon, so how could something be more expensive in a few years, but even worse than before?

I'm going to use these as much as possible, starting now, and I'll edit my review if they rip soon. I'd say, pay the few extra bucks now and purchase a much better pair with thicker stitching, better padding, and higher quality construction. No need to risk injury just to save a few bucks. Seriously Altus, I'm not impressed and feel like uploading a picture of my older ones just to show how thin and cheap the new Altus straps are.

I ordered my straps from AlpineLakesGear and it appears all their stock lacks the Atlus logo. That information is only shown when you click the "# new from $price" button on the item page.

That said, while I'm not entirely certain these are actually Atlus straps, though they do appear to be of similar quality to the genuine pair I lost. I'll update this review if they end up falling apart on me - for now, just be aware that you won't be receiving a branded product when you order these from this seller.

Doing heavier weights sometimes causes the grip to be the weak link - while I can strain my designated muscles more, the grip is the giveaway. These straps have a little padding and not too much. They do the job.

A friendly hint - using these will come on the expense of developing a more powerful grip, but that is to be expected. Any straps will do that and you might as well do grip muscles related exercises anyways.
