This product is all right. I bought it because it was the cheapest one at 12 inches -- and I was looking for a large size that could be shipped immediately. The image is good, clear, bright. There was one dead pixel -- not noticeable to my grandparents who were receiving it, but annoying to me. The internal memory is useful and I was pleased with that. The menu is confusing. I set it all up for my grandparents so that then they could just plug and play. That worked out well and the recipients were very happy with the gift! I wished that it had a feature to randomize the pictures. It plays them in the order of the files in the folder. There is a "randomize" feature but it only randomizes the transition effects (dissolve, wipe, etc.) It does remember which picture it was on when you turned it off -- an important feature.

I purchased this Aluratek ADMPF412F digital frame to show jpeg images. I didn't need or want any of the additional features (video, alarm, calendar, audio, etc.) so I can't/won't comment on those. I wanted the frame to run continuously (the same way I've used other digital frames from other manufacturers with no problems).
Problem is, after several hours of operation the screen goes to green and freezes. The remote doesn't function, and I have to unplug to restart. Once I do a "cold restart" I have to set everything up again and begin the slide show again. Yes, I have turned the timer to 'Off'. Yes, this happens whether I'm showing photos from the internal memory or from an SD card. There aren't any firmware updates on the Aluratek site (and Aluratek support confirms they don't offer any for this frame anyway). Aluratek's customer service can't tell me what the problem is, though they confirm it's not likely user error -- probably some kind of overheating problem. They tell me this is not a common issue; based on other reviews on Amazon I'm inclined to believe it. Regardless, the frame is totally useless for my needs. On a positive note, though, I am very impressed with Amazon's return policies and process. This is the first item I've ever returned to Amazon, and it is by far the easiest return I've ever experienced. Five stars (*****) for Amazon's world-class service.

This item came with lots of surprises. I did not expect that it has so many features, while other digital frames do not have. First tried to get a NIX 12a model (already got a 8in one) but its price went up from $84 to $119 within a few days. So I looked Aluratek 12in, good price with the same features I care: play music and video in addition to just photos. It has all the stantdard features , but with so much more.
Pros: 1) Language setting. 2) Playing cristal clear pictures, also playing mp3, and video (avi and Mp4). The best thing for video is that it has memory to the place you left last time, and has fastforward/ or backword, while Nix 08a does not have any of these. And it also can change aspect ratio, either 4:3 or 16:9. 3) Can display any type of file - e.g. Ebook, even can show your .txt file. 4) Remote control is simple, but with so many functions once you know how to navigate 5) can do picture zoom, rotate 6) Have calendar and time/clock/Alarm - Nix do not have any of it Cons: 1) frame appearance not very artistic - boarder too narrow Overrall, I give it 5 star rating. Great price and so many features

12" display is nice and pics look good. But the remote is very difficult to use and I have found the unit difficult manage. I bought this for Mother's day and still trying to figure out how to make it easier for her just turn on and scroll thru her favorite pics, or scroll forward and back. I have a smaller one that seemed much easier to manage. The menu's are also difficult and can't figure out a way to simply start the slide show from the beginning. I gave two stars because the price was decent and pictures look good. Otherwise it would have only got one star.

I don't usually review but found this to be a very good product. Good picture reliable operation
One thing you will want to know about the remote. A button press is just a quick press and release. If you hold the button down the unit won't do what you expect.

The last time I used a digital frame was 10 years ago, and I am very pleased with this new one. The color is good, the resolution crisp (even for text) and it isn't too hard to use (although I did know what I was looking for). I like the ability to change the transition effect and, most importantly, the amount of time between images down to the second. I really cannot believe what a good deal it is for the price.
The only things that kept me from giving 5 stars were that the documentation was very light and not very useful, and I would like to have more controls for the screen. Luckily fishing around a bit allowed me to find everything, but I'm not very squeemish about these things. I can control brightness, but there are no controls for color balance and faces seem too red. Yes I can change them in Photoshop, but I'd rather not. Since all images are taken from the same camera at the same settings, I'd rather just adjust the color on the frame once and load it up.

Once everything is setup, the display is great. The remote that came with the unit barely worked at all and I found it was much easier to simply use the controls on the unit itself. All in all, I'd say it is well worth the money for someone who can program a dvd player. If you're buying it for someone who is less comfortable with setup screens, you might want to look for something a little more user friendly.

Best value 12" I have seen. I returned 2 other brands and kept this one. Better picture. Good viewing from all angles. Seems to have a lot of features but very poor manual tells you about none of them so I don't know what I am missing. Their web site is even worse. Remote is about as weak as the manual - sometimes some buttons just don't work, sometimes they do. Setup is a trial and error effort.
I like the quality of the pictures and the price I don't like the manual or the remote.

I got this for my mom and even I couldn't figure out how this thing worked. The remote it comes with is useless and it works only on certain occasions. Overall, I would not recommend this product as it us not at all user friendly.

I have sent this in to be repaired / replaced two times now. The frame freezes up. Doesn't receive pictures. We have had many problems with it.
