1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of Crap the Brakes Whenever It Feels Like It!!!
I was once quite pleased with this camera. It was used a few times (I would say less than ten times) and seemed to be holding its own. However, out of nowhere the camera no longer wants to zoom in/out and the video has suddenly gone ridiculously grainy. This video camera is definitely no longer HD. 1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of Crap the Brakes Whenever It Feels Like It!!!, June 23, 2010

This review is from: Aluratek AHDVC01F 2.4-Inch LCD HD DV Camcorder (Silver) (Electronics)
I was once quite pleased with this camera. It was used a few times (I would say less than ten times) and seemed to be holding its own. However, out of nowhere the camera no longer wants to zoom in/out and the video has suddenly gone ridiculously grainy. This video camera is definitely no longer HD. The pictures - which were hard to take at that angle to begin with - have gotten to the point that most cell phones take higher quality photos than this camera. If you're looking for something that will run strong for a short time and then quite abruptly for no reason at all, this is the camera for you. If you're looking for something worth the money that will work for a while, go look for something else. Unfortunately, now I am faced with having to purchase another camera when I really can't afford it because I was really counting on this one. Oh well. Live and learn.

My recommendation: DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!

Too bad there isn't the option of zero stars, because really, this thing deserves it.

1.0 out of 5 stars The cheap price reflects the camera quality, May 27, 2010

Don't fall for the inexpensive price. This camera is not even worth a cent. The video quality is poor, and it is far from user friendly. Mine ended up in the trash because it was useless for any video whatsoever.

4.0 out of 5 stars I'm please with my purchase!, April 5, 2010

Although this is a small and inexspensive video camera/camera it takes great pictures and video's. For the price it is a great deal, once you figure out how to use its features, instructions didn't describe very well. I purchased a 8GB card to store my video's and photo's on. I have yet to use it long enough to determine how long the battery last, but so far it has exceeded my expectations. Not good in low light area's as it has no light or flash. I would definitely recommend this video camera if you are looking for something that takes decent pictures and video, is very light weight, fits in your pocket, and is inexpensive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great camera for the price!!, February 18, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Aluratek AHDVC01F 2.4-Inch LCD HD DV Camcorder (Silver) (Electronics)
I bought this camera first because of the price, and 2nd because of what it can do. We have a JVC older model VHS-C camera which is now just too bulky when it comes to traveling. We are getting ready to take a cruise and I thought this would be perfect for that occasion. I've tested it out briefly and will write another review once I'm back from our trip but based on the initial test this camera is great! Too cool! I'm looking forward to perhaps including a video review next time. So far so good!!

4.0 out of 5 stars GOOD Value, Features, Quality, Can't beat unless you spend lots more, September 17, 2011
This review is from: Aluratek AHDVC01F 2.4-Inch LCD HD DV Camcorder (Silver) (Electronics)
Bought this for my daughter and it is an excellent camera. Price was very reasonable and it doesn't feel cheap. Construction is just as good as the expensive Kodak Picture is good quality. Not entirely the best but fine for Internet youtube posting, and even for home use. I have used this for business and it works great. Especially the mic input feature. The more expensive camera have the mic input such as the Kodak i8 and i10 I compare this to them other the video is a little less. Low light videos are extremely good comparing to other cameras I have used. don;t get me wrong it won;t take good video in the dark but will certainly do well in low light situations. I use this for real estate and I have no problems inside homes with lower lighting.
If you are looking for a reasonable price camera with features and good video and picture taking you will not be disappointed.
1 CON: When zooming and out while taking video you will hear a slight ticking sound. My voice overs and music take that anyway but you hear it in the playback if not editing. But rarely do I zoom in and out anyway. But still a good camera for the money.
