Dreadnought Style
Dreadnought is the most common size and, arguably, the most versatile of the entire guitar family. The name "dreadnought" comes from the old British battleships, which sailors called "dread-nots." Typically featuring larger bodies, dreadnoughts project well, have exceptional bass response, and are ideal for general accompaniment and flat-picking. Even unamplified, a dreadnought will generally be loud enough for a small - to a medium-sized audience.
Figured Dao Top, Back, and Sides
Tonewood selection is extremely important, so Alvarez uses figured dao for the top, back, and sides. Dao has been compared to mahogany--adding focus and clarity to the guitar's warm tone. The White Pearl rosette creates a stunning visual contrast to the figured dao top.
Rosewood Bridge and Fingerboard
The AD60CK's rosewood bridge ensures maximum transfer of string energy to the Solid Sitka Spruce top for superior tone. The Rosewood Fingerboard features highly polished, perfectly dressed frets ensures maximum playability, even in the highest positions.
Quality Tuners
The AD60CK features nickel die-cast tuners for smooth, fast, and accurate tuning. Stay in tune no matter how hard you're playing.
Deep Cutaway
The deep Venetian cutaway gives you access to even the highest position frets.
Onboard Preamp/EQ
The Alvarez System 600T MKII Preamp/EQ is known for being the most natural sounding acoustic / electric system available. Plug in and enjoy a tone that's as good amplified as it is acoustic.

Beautiful Guitar,
By
This review is from: Alvarez Acoustic Guitar AD60CK Cutaway Dreadnought Artist Series (Electronics)
I'm a novice guitar player, and I love this guitar. First of all, it's a gorgeous instrument. I've never liked the plain average looking light wood colored guitars. This one is a rich chocolaty brown with very pronounced wood grain.
It has an on board tuner, which took some getting used to, but it works very well. The instructions on how to use the tuner were very vague and not much help. I had to just play with it til I figured it out. One downside to the tuner is that the guitar has to be close enough to tune for it to be of any help. I had to go online and find a site that would give me the tone I needed so I could get it close enough by ear so that the tuner could recognize which string I was working on. Also, it seems like this tuner can handle alternate tunings, but I can't really comment on that since I don't know much about it. It also has adjustments for the electronics. I haven't plugged it in yet, so I can't speak to how well that stuff works. The guitar has a nice sound to it. You can't really tell from the pictures, but mine came with the strap buttons attached to the guitar. Though it's hard to actually get the strap on them. I guess because everything is still so new. The only complaints I have are that the box it came in was kind of beat up. But even if it hadn't been, it's just a flimsy cardboard box with some very thin plastic cushioning stuff. Also, there is a blemish on the top of the head stock. It looks like it was made while the finish was still wet. I bought this guitar from Amazon just about a month ago, for considerably more than what the price is today. I would have given it a good recommendation at the higher price I paid for it. So this is a bargain. Also, if you like this guitar, don't wait long. When I was looking at the Alvarez website, I was reading about another model that "will replace" this one, so it may be discontinued. It was discontinued at musician's friend and zzounds.
