Book Description

September 2003
Even the most desperate poverty, the most devastating illness, the most heart-wrenching grief is not beyond God's help. His love and power have no limits-and that's a message readers from all walks of life need to hear. The modern miracles that Rolland and Heidi Baker experience every day in their work with Mozambique's throwaway children, movingly chronicled in Always Enough, will inspire anyone looking for hope in the midst of suffering.
The Bakers, formerly missionaries in Indonesia and Hong Kong, share how their work for the past eight years in Mozambique, one of the poorest nations on earth, has borne spiritual fruit beyond their wildest dreams. Every day presents multiple impossible needs. But in the face of everything Satan can do, as Rolland and Heidi lay down their lives and "minister to the one," there is always enough.
Readers will discover that the simple practice of choosing to step out and trust God every day unleashes his provision for every need.

Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

Is God still in the business of miracles? Does He still multiply food, send financial resources where there were none, heal the sick, even raise the dead?

Always Enough shows that all of these things, and more, happen today as they did in biblical times. Even the most desperate poverty, the most devastating illness and the most heart-wrenching grief are not beyond His help. As you follow the adventures of missionaries Rolland and Heidi Baker in Mozambique-ravaged by civil war and famine to become one of the poorest places on earth-you'll be awed by God's limitless power and tender provision. The account of how He has enabled the Bakers to help many hundreds of Mozambique's throwaway children and start an astounding five thousand churches will warm your heart and move you to tears.

The simple practice of "ministering to the one" and choosing to trust God daily unleashes great power to change any situation. So come along on the journey! Witness what God is doing in one of the poorest nations on earth, then invite Him to work His miracles in your own life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Story of the Baker's Miraculous Ministry Amongst the Poor, February 15, 2004
By
Todd (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Always Enough: God's Miraculous Provision among the Poorest Children on Earth (Paperback)
From the introduction:
"I (Rolland) always wanted to live and believe the Sermon on the Mount, but usually got told that it did not mean all that I thought it meant, and that I needed to be practical. I would read the Scriptures longingly, trying to imagine how wonderful it would be not to worry about anything, safe and secure in the presence of Jesus all the time. Miracles would be normal. Love would be natural. We could always give and never lose. We could be lied to, cheated and stolen from, and yet always come out ahead. We would never have to take advantage of anyone, or have any motive but to bless other people. Rather than always making contingency plans in case Jesus didn't do anything, we could count on Him continually. We, our lives, and all that we preach and provide would not be for sale, but would be given freely. Our hearts would be carefree in the love of our Father in heaven, who always knows what we need, and we could get on with the glorious business of seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness. There would always be enough!"

Read about how Rollands desire came true. You will be encouraged in heart and enlarged in faith by reading just this one example of what God is doing in the world today.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic Account About What God Is Doing, March 29, 2004
By
Shane (Lynden, WA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Always Enough: God's Miraculous Provision among the Poorest Children on Earth (Paperback)
This is a fantastic testimony of the power of God in our time! Heidi and Rolland Baker are living examples of what God can and will do with laid down lives, radical lovers of Jesus.

This book is the story of Rolland and Heidi Baker. It tells of their humble beginnings where they just believed God and went out to the mission field to make a difference. They share their experiences in Indonesia, Hong Kong, London, and Mozambique, with the focus on the latter. They share about how Jesus thrust them into the harvest out of intimacy; their ministry went from 2 churches to over 5000!

They disclose, from their own experience, of the faithfulness of God and that He truly is More Than Enough. Rolland tells story after story about how God has used them to see the lost, poor, orphans, widows come to know Jesus. Heidi share's her intimate experiences with Jesus and how they radically transformed her life and ministry. These are powerful, impacting testimonies that will encourage, challenge and spur you on into deeper intimacy with Jesus... because He is worth it!

I highly recommend this book and if you can, get your church or conference to host Heidi and you will never be the same again.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for those with a heart for the broken and a passion for Jesus, March 29, 2006
This review is from: Always Enough: God's Miraculous Provision among the Poorest Children on Earth (Paperback)
I read this book right before I went to Heidi and Roland's center in Maputo last October. My heart was broken for the lost and forgotten and I was encouraged to read of the faithfulness of God. Once I was in Mozambique and saw all the transformed lives, it was easy to believe the things I read in this book happening there. The experience was life-changing. All the walls and pretenses come down and you are stripped bare. It makes a perfect enviroment for God to step in. Whether you plan to make a trip to Africa one day or not or to go on a missions trip at all for that matter, this book will expand your vision and break Jesus out of the box for you. The childlike faith and laid down life of Heidi Baker is a constant inspiration to me to humble myself and just trust in our beautiful Lord. He will do amazing things. Heidi just started helping the one in front of her and look at the impact. For all the many books I've read with plans and strategies on changing the world, her message is the only one that I know I can follow. Stop for the one.
