About the Author

There have been more than a dozen Jakes in the fifty-six-year history of Glamour magazine's column. This book was written by one of the most recent. He is now happily married to the woman his readers came to know as Orange Blossoms--thanks in large part to the wisdom they gave him.

I found this book to be very helpful! I have read books like Why Men Love Bitches and Why Men Marry Bitches. Both books are amazing, but I truly liked this one because we have the male point of view. It is a very easy and enjoyable read. I didn't find this to be a "man catching book," but rather one that is telling women to be you and do what is best for you! Only after you are putting yourself first can you actually find the relationship worthy enough for you! I truly enjoyed this book and I am glad to finally have a book that is very much to the point on where men are coming from in relationships. I would recommend it to every woman!

Glamour Magazine releases "Always Hit On The Wingman," by Jake. Everybody knows that Jake is America's most trusted dating columnist and if you've read his columns, you'll definitely want to read this book. In "Always Hit On The Wingman," Jake utilizes his own life experiences to give advice to women about what men really think! "Always Hit On The Wingman," is a very intriguing book, nicely written in the first person, reflecting upon real life experiences. Jake's stories are fun, easy to read and most importantly, he shares unique advice for all women. Particularly, the advice he strongly gives about just being yourself. This advice reverts way back to the days of Aristotle and his journey to empower all people he encountered by guiding them to find their real purpose in life, while teaching them to believe in themselves. This advice is the most genuine advice anyone could give and it seems so many of us have trouble being ourselves at times. `Just be yourself,' Jake quotes throughout the book and I have to say "Great advice Jake!" The book is fun because Jake shares real life stories that reflect upon the many hurdles he himself, had to jump, before he met the right one. Yes, it was Blossom! We see why Jake is so mysterious, that's a lot to share with the world but, look where he is today, (after being Jake) married to his lovely wife, and now they have a beautiful daughter.....great person to be getting advice from! Won't give too much away about what's inside the book, so you'll have to get your own copy to find out more! You'll also love the Glamour and Jake interviews in between some of the chapters! Great work Glamour and Jake! Michelle R. Rossi/ Michigan Glambassador

This book was really, really good.

I received it today, and finished it within a couple of hours. It is a good, enjoyable read. It was funny, honest and well written.

I havent really read a lot of the Jake columns, not a regular reader of Glamour, but I will be now!

The book left me feeling - wait for it - empowered! It made me feel great. Its horrible that I needed a book to tell me what I should already know - that I am awesome (woo!) and if I am dating a guy that doesnt see that, I shouldn't stick around.

The book is basically promoting being yourself - something we hear lots of, but somehow still ignore? Its so true though. I know so many women, me included, that will setlle for dirtbags and losers because we either think its all we can get or we convince ourselves we can change them or that they'll eventually want the things they say they dont want now.. if that makes sense. The book was a really good, fun read, and there probably wasnt any rock my world new advice that I hadnt heard before, but its always nice to get it from a male's perspective! It seemed to really hit me this time - be myself, respect myself, and understand that guys are crazy different from us girls. There were so many girls mentioned in the book that I could identify with, and definitely a lot of the guys sounded a bit familiar.

I would definitely recommend this book for single girls, girls in new relationships, married, men - whatever! Its very insightful and fun and uplifting. Now to hopefully remember all the good advice and implement it next time a dirtbag hits on me or treats me in a way that is less than I deserve.

I heard great things about this book, and as someone who reads the Jake articles in Glamour, I knew it was something I should check out. I read it in 3 days and am now sad that its over! This was such an enjoyable, fun read. It puts things into perspective - and it wasn't cheesy like so many other advice/dating books are. It just made me look at things differently. I would recommend this even if you aren't in need of dating advice - the way "Jake" writes made the advice feel more like a great story.

I just finished reading "Always Hit on the Wingman" over the weekend and I'm excited to share my thoughts with you on the book! Several people who know me have given me the raised eyebrow as to why I would read this book since I'm in a relationship. Even my boyfriend questioned me about reading this subject matter and flipped through the book to try and get an idea of the contents. First off, Glamour was nice enough to send me a copy to read (Thanks!). Secondly, I can honestly say that anyone can read it and take away something from it, regardless of your relationship status!

Written by Jake, Glamour's male dating columnist, this anonymous author offers 10 rules for getting the love life you want and let's women know what men are really thinking in various situations. This is the first dating book I've read from a male perspective and I must say Jake is brutally honest and he is anonymous for a reason. Being able to share his dating experiences in this book bring a sense of realness to the reader and the author. There have been several "Jakes" over the years for Glamour and we get to see some of their advice in the book too! I've actually tried one of the rules (To my boyfriend: don't ask) and it's amazing what the results have brought which is a win-win in the love game! For those who have read relationship books in the past, this is way different from the others.

It's funny how as I read this book I had a few girlfriends tell me about their dating hang-ups and I started to quote a lot of what Jake was preaching! I'm no expert, but I felt like I had some new knowledge to share. The key things I took from this book are that women must be themselves, broadcast your personality, and someone will take interest.
