This is another enjoyable read from Jo Goodman. If you liked her other books about the Dennehy sisters, you will surely enjoy this read, as well. However, Skye is probably the least likable of the 5 sisters (as she is slightly spoiled and self-centered) and this story may be the most difficult to follow. Unlike the others, this one does not take place in the West. Instead, it happens in an old mansion in New England, where Skye's father has sent her to do some harmless research/investigating to satiate her adventurous spirit. Instead, she finds real danger and a dangerous, enigmatic hero to boot. The mystery moves at a quick pace and once the reader figures out what's going on, the book becomes much better. In the end, this Dennehy sister -- like the others -- finds the man of her heart and spirit. (The next and final book in the series -- about the former nun, Mary -- may be the best.)

The mysterious Walker Caine worked for Jonathan Parnell, as his protector. Straightaway, he grew suspicious of Miss Dennehy. He knew the woman was up to no good. She was too curious and intrepid, too reckless and impulsive. If ever someone needed a keeper, it was Skye Dennehy! The woman possessed all the qualities that could land her in very serious trouble! Granted, she did possess a certain charm and yes and she could think on her feet! Infuriatingly, Walker knew . . . they were very much alike!

I like Jo Goodman! I find her stories entertaining, her heroes wonderful, and her love scenes moving. September 2006 and Jo Goodman just keeps getting better and better. Unfortunately, ALWAYS IN MY DREAMS was released in June 1995. It is Book 4 in the Dennehy series and if you can get the Dennehy series, do so, but do read them in order! The first books in the series are by far the best. One positive thing I can say about ALWAYS IN MY DREAMS, Jo Goodman kept the hero and the heroine together peacefully. Actually, there was nothing terribly wrong with Skye's story, except nothing really happened. In fact, the more I read, the less I enjoyed it, even less during the overly created ending. OK, I suppose Skye needed an adventure!

This series really got me hooked on Jo Goodman. Although I have to admit I don't like everything she publishes, it's nice to find a writer who seems to have a range of writing styles. This fourth book was heart felt and truly made you root for the characters who struggle through some difficult emotional hurdles.
