Songs from the war...,
By Bertrand D. Masa (Manhattan, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Always In My Hear: Classic Songs from World War 2, Vol. 2 (Audio CD)
If you are an admirer of music from the 1940's and you can get your hands on this C.D., never let it go!
These treasured songs came from the hearts of the musicians who lived during the Era of World War 2. Music inspired by the hardships and victories which can never and will never again be duplicated. It is nice to listen to at night when you are relaxing or just hanging out with friends. It is great to listen to in the morning with the smell of fresh coffee brewing and even while cooking breakfast. A wonderful anytime C.D. that inspires romantic, humorous, patriotic and proud feelings reminiscent of a bygone era.

This review is from: Always in My Heart: Classic Songs From World War II, Vol. 2 (Audio CD)
This was a real find for me... I collect novelty records from the '30's, 40's and 50's. I despaired of ever hearing one title on this CD again. I Googled the title, and up popped this CD. It's quite old, but I had never seen reference to it before. "21 Dollars A Day, Once A Month" by Tony Pastor, might not seem too interesting to most, but it's another addition to the collection. Without it, I would not have purchased the album. (CD)
Now if I can just find "Lay Someting On The Bar Beside Your Elbows" (not the Jerry Lewis version), I'll be happy for awhile. (It was on Coral, which was a Decca (Universal) subsidiary, and I don't recall the artist.) Randy....... |
