5.0 out of 5 stars Listening is "Always a Pleasure"....
I first saw (and heard) this band in Atlanta where they opened up for The Gloria Record. And ,man, was I impressed. The lead singer had me captivated because you felt as though he lived each song. I was so impressed that I bought the CD. When I got it home it was like I was at the show again. From beginning to end the tracks pack the type of energy that I love to hear...

3.0 out of 5 stars WHAT HAPPENED TO THE OLD SINGER???
I must say, I'm not too impressed with this cd, I bought this cd expecting to hear the old singer and I turn it on and hear some jimmy eat world wanna-be singer with horrific lyrics. the music though is amazing as usual. I'm just not happy with the singer, the old singer had a very unique vocals and a much better voice.

I first saw (and heard) this band in Atlanta where they opened up for The Gloria Record. And ,man, was I impressed. The lead singer had me captivated because you felt as though he lived each song. I was so impressed that I bought the CD. When I got it home it was like I was at the show again. From beginning to end the tracks pack the type of energy that I love to hear in my emoindiepoprock music. The use of words and the poetry that flows through the speakers was SO amazing. My favorite songs by far is "Cancel the Sound" and "Sway". The last two track "Learning Curve" and "The Art of Building" are simply wonderful in their arrangements. This CD was on lock in my player for a good month and a half. As a matter of fact....I'm going to go home and put it tonight. I was looking forward to hearing more from this band, but sadly they broke up a while back. But don't let that stop you from enjoying the symphony of melancholy and bliss that is Compound Red. Buy it....I think you'll like it.

This is a great cd! I just wish that it would get here. I've heard it several times and need to own it. It's been on backorder for several months now, but very worth the wait.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, yet un-appreciated, January 16, 2000

This is one of the best albums I have heard in a long time. Tracks like 'Return' and 'Goodbye to Paris' will blow you away. This album also shows striking similarities to Shiner, Hum, and other Indie artists. This cd is a MUST, and I highly recommend buying it for the unbelievable price listed.
