While I enjoyed most of the story, at times, it felt like the age group this was targeted at had dropped significantly.

I also feel like I got ripped off just a bit. I read this on a Kindle and went to sleep thinking I was a little more than half finished with the book, hence the 50%+ on the bottom. I was a little pissed when there was only a few more pages of story and the rest of the book (40%+) was teasers for the full novels. This feels like it got rushed out the door and comes across as unfinished. Shame on you, this title should've been a lot less $$, especially considering you missed the first publishing release date.

The book was awesome! I read it in one night. The book is really short and it does not go into depth about numbers 2 and 3. I wish number one had stayed alive. I like her a lot. I wonder how the main character in this will all tie into the story. It was kind of a let down, length wise any ways. I waited and waited for this. I got it at midnight and started reading. I was expecting to stay up till at least 2:30. I got the book done with by 1ish. I loved it though. I love this series. I am highly anticipating/anxious for The Rise of Nine!!!

shame on me for not reading the reviews. dont make the same mistake. i finished this $3.99 book in twenty minutes! granted i read ultra fast but, it was only like 80 pages. yes, it says its 150 pages on the "buy now" sheet but, its not. what the author and book discription doesnt say is that 40% (not exagerating) of the book is all the intros to all the other novels! if you have the money it is a good read but, if you dont want to get ripped off dont buy it. unless it becomes nessisary to understand who this new character, adam is; click page back and read any other book buy this author because this one isnt worth it!

As avid readers of the series, as well as eagerly awaiting the continuing saga of the I Am Number Four money train, my family couldn't wait to read this one. My kids loved it, but as a parent and as a reader, I have to say this one was fairly disappointing. To top it off, about 40% of the Kindle version is a rehash of the first novel, with this story ending at the 61% mark on my Kindle.

The writing in this prequel is very choppy and even though this is not that long it just dragged on and on and on - it's almost as if someone different wrote this than whoever wrote the first two novels. If this is an indication of what is to come with the release of the full-length novel in August, I'd be willing to bet this is the beginning of the end.

For parents, I'd caution you to let your younger kids read this - while there was always a bad word or two in the novels, this short story has several f-bombs and other words I really don't want my kids to read. The damage is done, as I let them read it before I did based upon prior experiences with the franchise. Lesson learned.

With the Kindle pricing at $3.99, this felt like wasting money on bad writing and not much of a story.

Learning about the other legacy's, one, two, and three was fairly interesting. A little over half way through the book it ended and began giving 2 chapter previews on all the other stories. For-instance: 2 chp of "I Am Number Four", 2 chps of "the Power of Six", 2 chps. of "The rise of Nine": I already have these books and have read them.
I was disappointed and I wasted my money buying it

Written from a different perspective than the guarde. Interesting, not my favorite in the series by any means. It does have a unique point of view so you see the villains of the series much more clearly.

...that the author will come up with something as good as the first in the series. I was hoping for a bit more out of this offering, but guess I'll have to keep waiting.

This was very different from the other books in the series. It is much shorter and at times seems rushed. There is also a lot more profanity but as these are aimed for teens/young adults it isn't totally unrealistic. Over all it was a good fast read and gives a look into the life of the enemy.

I loved the premise. Enjoyed the book more as I read it. What was the reason it stopped right in the middle? The story was just beginning to flower. The plot was just being fleshed out. Our intrepid hero had come to a fork in the road and boom "The End"

It was interesting to know what happened to the Gardes One, Two, and Three. How they were captured and a bit about their personalities. It provided me with a general idea of what One, Two and Three were like, as well as the Mogs. I did enjoy knowing more about their characters.

However, it seemed that the book was just focused on Number One and the Mogs. There weren't really a lot of info about Two and Three. I guess I was just expecting to know more about their personalities, experiences, relation with their Cepan and legacies. I got this only with Number One and the Mogs.

In addition, I know that these books are just supplements but it's not as exciting as the actual series (still is but not as). I mean the action (fighting) wasn't as much - probably cause it was told from a first person participant perspective who wasn't really in the action of things. I would have preferred if the book was written in a third-person perspective (I know that it won't be consistent with the series but we're dealing with Mogs and 3 Garde members here). This would've provided us with a more well-rounded experience and knowledge about the 3 Garde members and their Cepan.

Nevertheless, if you're interested to know more about Mogs and a little about the fallen Garde members, you might still want to purchase this book and have a rather enjoyable experience.
