A great live Kim Mitchell performance!, February 25, 2003
This is a great album. Great Canadian rock 'n roll. Kim Mitchell is that Canadian rocker that it seems no one has heard of south of the border in the U.S., where I have lived for ten years now. He is someone we should be proud of, and this live album is one reason why. I have seen him twice in concert, in Edmonton in 1985 and in 1992, and he puts on a great live show. Pounding versions of "That's the Hold" and "Deep Dive" demand that you turn up the volume. "All We Are" is probably my favourite of his songs, and this live version gives me goose bumps, how it just radiates passion and energy. Maybe the only disappointment is his rendition of "Go For Soda" because at times he doesn't sing and lets the audience sing some of the lines, and for someone who is not actually there, that is annoying because you are not part of the crowd and it comes across on the recording as disruptive and choppy. So there is one track that I tend to skip. But all the rest are first rate. If you are looking for a CD to turn up and rock the house, I don't think you can go wrong with this one!

Should have been more songs, January 18, 2009
This review is from: I Am a Wild Party (Audio CD)
With I AM A WILD PARTY the listener only get a brief taste of Kim Mitchell's live show. The two studio tracks are great also but I expected more. I would not jump to blame Kim Mitchell for this as I know what kind of garbage records companies pull us, the buyers and fans.
