Creating a new world...part one,

This review is from: The Amalgam Age of Comics: The Marvel Comics Collection (Paperback)
This is the first of several books to have the comics from the 1990s colaberation of DC and Marvel in the DC vs Marvel (or Marvel vs DC if your prefer) that has several of the books together in one place to not only show what would happen if the worlds of DC and Marvel heroes came together, but what sort of unique combinations come from it and to see the artwork of the best in the comics industry for the time work together to create such an amazing product is wonderful. Each story allows for people who are fans of the broader base of the top comics from the 1990s to recognize who these characters are, how they are different and what sort of combinations were used to create these new and interesting heroes. Even if the hero's name is the same the character is a combination of we thought out combinations of the Best in the DD and Marvel universes told in a style as if this character and his/her/its comic have always been around adding a bit of fun and humor to the comic page. Overall if you were a fan of DC & Marvel and loved their clash in the 90s then you should definately look at this and the other 3 products out there, they are getting harder to find but they are all fun. Thanks for reading.

My Favorites in this book were
Bruce Wayne, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D Magneto & The Magnetic Men Speed Demon X-Patrol and my ALL-TIME Favorite- Spider-Boy And i loved the writers and artists that DC/Marvel got for this collection. Legends like Chuck Dixon, Gerald Jones, Barbara & Karl Kesel and not to mention art talents like Jeff Matsuda, Gary Frank, Roger Cruz and the late (but never forgotten) Mike Wieringo. And i definitely would recommend this book to anyone who loves the storytelling of the 90's. |
