While I enjoy this album and play it often as I love the selections I have to agree with reviewer "333".If you have listened to any of Alison Balsom recordings I think that one could see what "333" was referring too. I do think this album belongs in any serious trumpeters library. Before I get a "twinkle twinkle little star" comment I was a professional trumpeter for 10 years before I found other interest.Russ

Wow, I think some people are out there to criticize other reviewers rather than the artist. Just because I don't particularly enjoy Amanda's music does not mean I am an incompetent trumpeter who is blabbering about nonsense (I have been playing for 7 years).
I will admit that when I first wrote the review I had less experience to listening to many diverse styles of music and thus my review showed some bias. However, Amanda still does not compare to the trumpet greats such as Maurice André, Wynton Marsalis, Rafael Mendez, and certainly not Sergei Nakariakov. Her technique is brilliant, her tone is full; yet, she is lacking the effortless musicality that is inherent in these masters of the trumpet. I am in no way saying that I play better than her but what T.A. said "I think he can play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" shows how shallow and bitter she is to other critcism.

Very disappointing....,

I would not recommend this CD, period. I found it to be very disappointing. The level of performance is well below what I expected, especially considering the high price for this recording. There are far too many great trumpet recordings available for you to buy this one.

What a nice cd!
Splendid musicality and trumpet playing technique, original repertoire!!! This is much nicer than the next cd with Arban, Bach, Hayd & Hummel etcetera... Beautiful Spanish originals and extra's. It's almost an easy listening cd! Least important Amanda is nice to look at as well ;-)

Amanda Pepping is most definitely in the elite company of the small sorority of female trumpet virtuosi. Brava!

Very very good and pleasant to listen a woman playing trumpet like that. I recommend it.

INCREDIBLE TECHNIQUE, PHRASING,TONE,

I don't know what music the first comment was referring to when he said she doesn't have good tone. Amanda Pepping is superb in every aspect of her playing. Fast, articulate, great phrasing, technique, and tonal quality. He needs to get his trumpet out and match what she does. (If he even plays at all). I think he can probably play "Twinkle, twinkle, little star".
