Amazing, Talented and So Much More..., December 31, 2001
This review is from: Amanda Stott (Audio CD)
Amanda Stott is a rookie to the country music scene. For a rookie, she is pretty darn good though. Her grace, poise and talent showcase her as if she were a vetern of the industry. I'd like to call her the Lila McCann of the Canadian Country Music Scene, if I may. Amanda is young, has good writers, a great voice and with any luck, will have a lengthy career in music. Amanda's voice alone makes the album a great buy. Her debut album helps to showcase that talent with lead-off single "Black Is Black." Other didies include "Somebody To Love," which has a great video to go with it, as well as "To Keep From Missing You," and "He Loves Me Like That." I can't exactly choose a fav as the entire album is solid, but "To Keep From Missing You," and "Somebody To Love" are great listens. She is also an excellent performer. I've seen her on tv many-a-time and each time she just happens to get better and better. (The Huron Carol 2001 is an example of her outstanding work.) For any fan of music in general this album makes a nice addition to a collection, buy if you like country/pop, you can't live without this album. In twenty years time, Amanda will be all the rave, and without this album, you'll be "Reachin' For A Star" trying to find this gem.

Amanda's Awesome!, March 21, 2001
This review is from: Amanda Stott (Audio CD)
I discovered Amanda and her music in August of 2000 and have been mesmorized by her voice ever since. I had recently bought her self titled CD and it's barely left my cd player ever since! She may be only 18 years old (as am I) but she has the power of a much older person! He song "Reachin' For a Star" (which she sang at her high school graduation) is probably my favorite, along with "Black is Black" and "Somebody To Love". I'm not a huge country fan, but Amanda is an except to the rule! I highly recommend this cd if you are looking for a high energy/soft and mellow package in one! :)

One of the best. Ranks with McBride, Twain, Hill, Clark, October 31, 2000
This review is from: Amanda Stott (Audio CD)
Her voice is sweet and clear. She is able, as the best are, to change styles and not sound at all the same on every song. I think this is what guarantees the best a long career. You won't like only one or two songs either, most will please a part of you. "To Keep From Missing You" rocks. "I just believe that I Can" is my favorite or is it "Everytime the Phone Rings"? Or..... Try it, You'll like it!
