Lots of solar system facts for young readers.,
By John Scott "John Scott" (Newark, NJ, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Amanda Visits the Planets (Hardcover)
Interesting book for children with lots of facts about the solar system. Setting with Amanda Adams and her brother Charlie reading about planets, and then flying through the solar system. Illustrated with simple pictures. It lists 9 planets, Pluto as a planet, which is outdated, and some of teh script is difficult to read because of the background of the illustration it is printed on. She contemplates that she'd like to be an astronaut when she grows up as conclusion of the story, cliche ending, really, why not a scientist, astronomer? In any case, good facts about astronomy.

This review is from: Amanda Visits the Planets (Hardcover)
Another book which contains my granddaughter's name that she found delightful. An added bonus is that she learns some valuable lessons about astronomy. I feel very wise about my selections as they have also served her as her "read-at-home" book assiognments for school.
