If you've never heard of or bought a Christian Castro/Cristian CD, "Amar Es" is the one to get you started. On this CD, you get a taste of various musical genres such as ballad, tropical, fun-rock, and folkloric. There's a song for every taste practically! I love the Japenese themed album cover and linear notes. Cristian and his wife are featured in the photos which has a bit of the 1960's James Bond feel to them, very original for a Mexican balladeer! My favorite songs are "Este Loco Que Te Mira", "Gallito Feliz" (Rock version) and "Oracion Caribe". Actually, I love every single song! BUY THIS CD, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!

This is Fernando Perdomo,lead guitarist on 6 of the songs on "Amar Es". This cd was a labour of love to finally capture the true diversity of Cristan's music. Ther is a wonderful mix of styles in this record ranging from romantic latin ballads, to fun rock, to trippy soundscapes, to fun Cumbia. It was a real pleasure working with the production team to make this magnificent collection. I brought my classic progressive rock, and experimental influences into the mix. Early genesis inspired 12 strings, ebow, theremin, floyd like slide passages, queen harmonized guitars, and chunky rythm guitars. Enjoy my work. Im very proud of it.

Like all of his other works this CD is just great.. Cristian has just an amazing voice. You have to hear it a few times to love it... I sure did.

I have just recently bought Castro's new Album, and I have to say that it is quite good...almost as good as Luis Miguel's new album! It is difficult not to admire an artist' desire to continue trying new things. The Japanese theme and musical mixture coupled with his beautiful, unique voice, is a delight to hear, and is enough to send shivers down one's spine. I am also impressed with the beautiful, flawless way he sings in English....he would no doubt make a successful crossover transition should he ever choose to.

I highly recommend this album.

When I first listened to the latest CD from Cristian Castro, I was surprised that it was not filled with ballads and pop songs. This CD has many well-written songs that finely exhibit Cristian's voice and a new range of music that was lacking in his other CD's. I admit that I had to listen to this CD a few times before it caught on, but I believe that it is one of his best musical endeavors. Buy this CD! (you won't be disappointed)

First off I like to say that I got the new cd from Cristian last christmas and when I first heard the cd I thought it was bad and I was going to give it a bad review but the second time I listend to the cd I found out it was not bad at all but it was not that great etier. Hes done better. Much better. I have been a Christian Castro fan since christmas of 1999 starting my collection of Cristian Castro collection with Mi Vida Sin Tu Amor ( My Life Without Your Love } and then the 2nd cd I got was Lo Mejoe De Mi { The Best Of Me } and then 3rd I got his Remixes in 2000 and the 4th I got was Azul ( Blue } and the 5th I got his Serie 32 because I was not fillimar with his older music on what was good so I chose to get a greatest hits cd and the finally I got Amar Es { Love Is ). So thats basically my whole story. Now back to his lastest cd. The very first song is the same song that Marc Anothony sings on Libre which is a very nice. The only thing is one is in rock and the other salsa. The song their playing right now in the Untied States were I live is No Hace Falta } Nothing Is Missing } and thats also a very nice song. I think the nicest song he has done. Another song i think is very nice on his new cd is Oracion Caribe. But the rest are good too. Cristian got married a little while ago and it shows his wife in the booklet and in the video for No Have Falta which I have through my cable box but they are not for free. I wish. Well the last thing I want to comment on is Cristian's wife is that I think shes pertty but ot betiful. I have seen alot more betiful women then Gabriella. But it goes back to basics that you can not tell your heart who to love and you not to love. Cristian loves his new wife because he married her and I think its wonderful he got married. Anyway if you are a big Cristian fan bue the cd but if you are just a causaul Cristian fan like that you only have one cd from him then I would not suggest you get this cd from him. I am a big Cristian fan. Insted bye Invisble from La Ley if you like rock. Its an old cd. 95 but very good. Well this is it for sure. If you bye his new cd I hope you enjoy it and if you don't and get the cd form La ley then I hope you enjoy that cd. Thank You. Bye.

North American music has been so horrible recentley that I have been happily converted to Latin music. My favorite artists are Cristian and Alejandro Sanz. Cristian's voice is so beautiful and soothing that I listen to this album day and night.

"Amar Es" difinitivamente no este disco. Tener que escuchar todo el disco es un trauma agonisante y psicopata. No hay nada bueno en este disco. La única canción buen es el primer corte, "No hace falta", pero no salva al disco. Es un material de pobre calidad encuanto a la música y talento.

This cd is as good as all the other cds Mr. Castro has produced with finally a great english song. Buy it if you like his other stuff. I did and am very happy with it.

I'm very disappointed with Cristian, and particolarly with this album. It looks that he's looking for the flashlight in the dark room. His attempt to rock (Gallito Feliz) is ridiculous. He was better in "Lo mejor de mi".
