5.0 out of 5 stars Egyptian moonlight magic, November 13, 2000

This review is from: Amar (Audio CD)
If I had to pick just one reason to get this CD, I would get it just for the first track SANATEIN WANAHAYEL FEEK which has all the wild romance & dust of the desert in it with inspired Nay playing & a lot of Malfuf rhythm. All in all, it is an inspired collection of Egyptian love songs (including an old classic from TamraHenna)with a nostalgic, authentic feel to it. Ask any true Egyptian & he/she would probably even know the lyrics to them .... Accordion sound is always great for people like me who are still just getting accustomed to that Middle Eastern sound ... a kind of more familiar Parisian tonal palette on top of Egyptian rhythms. And true to form wrt Hossam's work, the quality of musicianship (individual & ensemble) is way up there with the best.

This was exactly what I was looking for. Came in in good time. Great! Hassan Ramzy produces wonderful music for anyone interested in the music or dance of the Arabic/Egyptian world.

4.0 out of 5 stars I bought it for the pretty girl on the cover., October 8, 2000
This review is from: Amar (Audio CD)
but thank god I did, this music is so good. I don't have a clue about bellydancing music, but I love this album.

It's like got great rhythm (on the tablas or whatever), plus it's like a cross between the Disney Aladdin movie and just pure sexiness. I always enjoy this album but when I am feeling it, I am really really really feeling it. The drums or tablas or whatever are really amazing sounding and the rest of the music is just beautiful.
