Scanguards Vampires, Book 2

Another winner by Tina Folsom! I enjoyed this book as much as the first book in the Scanguards Vampires series, Samson's Lovely Mortal, where we are first introduced to Amaury. He is Samson's friend and works for him in Samson's security company. He was an enjoyable character in a bad boy way in the first book and I was glad to see he was the focus of the second book.

Amaury is your typical alpha hero but he becomes a big ole softy with Nina. He is protective in that yummy growly way we love to see in our alpha heroes, but Nina is constantly fighting Amaury's need to protect her. She is independent and stubborn and a good match for Amaury. Because of her past she is distrustful of men and resists her attraction to him almost to the end.

As with the first book, the romance between Amaury and Nina includes some snuggling, canoodling and talking, as well as hot sex scenes. Again, the author has done a great job in this area with a hot erotic romance that balances the sex with a suspenseful story while creating a sizzling connection between the main characters.

The secondary characters are also enjoyable and I look forward to their future stories. I like that Samson and Delilah have a fairly significant role in this book. It gives me a sense of their continuing story. I get to see the other secondary characters that I enjoyed in the first book as well and some new characters are introduced who I'm sure we will see in the future. Since the characters do carry over from one book to another, I recommend reading this series in order so you can understand the references and relationships between the characters.

Tina Folsom is officially on my watch list! I eagerly look forward to the next book in this series and her new Greek Gods series coming out this Fall.

I LOVE this book, especially the title character, Amaury! Amaury is a cursed vampire and just one of the employees of Scanguards, a San Francisco security company. The Scanguards vampires have an easy camaraderie that reminds me of the Brotherhood. Folsom is a super-sexy writer, but she's also adept at humor and emotion, which makes this book a layered reading experience. Nina is a strong female character, one who can challenge Amaury but also give him the compassion he's unwilling to give himself. The characters seem dynamic and real, and the climax is action-packed. If you like an engaging plot, characters that jump off the page, humorous banter, emotive tension, and, of course, hot, hot sex, give this book a try!

I'm so happy there was a book on Amaury, who was introduced in the first book, Samson's Lovely Mortal (GREAT book). In this book, we learn so much more about Amaury, and how much he endures and suffers. I loved watching the love between he and Nina grow, even if it was entirely different than the love story between Samson and Delilah. This love story definitely has a fun yet dramatic twist to it, but you'd expect no less with Amaury. :) The passion between he and Nina was HOT, and their chemistry was amazing.

I was very pleased to see that this book picked up where the first book left off, including bits of Samson and Delilah. I'm hoping that means we'll get to see another book based on the two of them. They are my favorite couple so far!

Overall, a fantastic read! Very well written, steamy love story that left me wanting an Amaury of my own. ;)

Tina Folsom is a New York Times, USA Today, and International Bestselling Author.

Tina Folsom was born in Germany and has been living in English speaking countries for over 20 years, the last 11 of them in San Francisco, where she's married to an American.

Tina has always been a bit of a globe trotter: after living in Lausanne, Switzerland, she briefly worked on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean, then lived a year in Munich, before moving to London. There, she became an accountant. But after 8 years she decided to move overseas.

In New York she studied drama at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, then moved to Los Angeles a year later to pursue studies in screenwriting. This is also where she met her husband, who she followed to San Francisco three months after first meeting him.

In San Francisco, Tina worked as a tax accountant and even opened her own firm, then went into real estate, however, she missed writing. In 2008 she wrote her first romance and never looked back.
