Ive listened to the Brooklyn Tabernacle choir over the years and this might sound like a cliche, but this album is probably one of their best! The voices in this choir have matured over the years yet they have maintained their originality. I play this CD in my car almost every day and continue to be blessed by their spirit filled singing. There is no one word to describe the type of music this choir is capable of performing. They have proven in this CD their ability to transcend all cultural and musical styles yet the message of the Gospel is never lacking. What an amazing experience!

If you have a heart for fabulous worship music, you will be swept right into the presence of God with this Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir cd. I've heard others and they don't seem to be either the same quality or have the same anointing as this one does. I turn it on and tears start almost immediately, and I've listened to it probably 50+ times. Never tire of it, it always brings me back to where I belong, in His presence, loving and worshiping Him.

Song of Moses is the last track on this album and features Donnie McClurkin as the soloist. Song of Moses is a deeply moving worship song. Although this song is very different than Donnie's usual bill of fair, he sings it extrememly well. Indeed, it sheds light on his vocal range as a tenor/baritone. I didn't know hit could hit the high notes that he does. What a surprise. It moved me to tears when I first heard it and it continues to remind me of the awesome and wonderful power of God. It's melodic simplicity is just right. No further embellishment is required as it would detract attention from the message. It asks the question, Whom shall not fear Thee? It reminds us that He is the King of saints and He is worthy of praise and glory.

I rate this track with 5 stars.

This review pertains to Song of Moses only.

This CD is fantastic! A staple in my car during my work commute. Uplifting and overwhelmingly "soul-stirring". The choir sings with power and conviction. I love "I'm Amazed" and "God's Promise". If you love to sing God's praises you will LOVE this CD.

This is the strongest Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir release since the superb "High and Lifted Up" in 1999. The BTC's arrangements and production values are always first-class, but the quality of the material has sometimes been inconsistent. Here the material is all top-notch, though I might have preferred one or two more faster pieces. The opening number, "Thou, O Lord," is a powerful slow-tempo tour de force like "Total Praise," which opened the 1999 recording. You'll also find yourself humming with two other outstanding slow gospel songs, "Heaven on My Mind" and "I Bless Your Name." For me the high point of this album is Joe Pace's "High and Lifted Up," a fast-paced praise chorus arrangement not to be confused with the entirely different composition on the 1999 recording. BTC should do more of Joe Pace's material.

In some of its earlier recordings, the BTC brought in then-popular gospel singers like Larnelle Harris and Wayne Watson for individual cuts. This new album closes with a fine slow ballad featuring Donnie McClurkin, entitled "Song of Moses." If you liked the BTC's "Days of Elijah" on its previous album, you should check out the electrifying version of "Days of Elijah" on McClurkin's recent release.

My own church choir has enjoyed singing a number of BTC pieces. When the arrangements are published, we'll surely want to sing several of these.

The album is advertised as a "live" album, but clearly much of the work was done in recording studios. Personally, I prefer this choir's pure studio recordings, without the applause, which sounds canned even though I'm sure it's not. I don't suppose many other gospel choirs have the financial resources to do first-class studio recordings, but this one does.

This CD is truly awesome! It is pure, without pretense, worship! The song, "Thou, Oh Lord" is based on Psalm 3. The song, "I Bless Your Name" (my favorite) is based on John 14:6. The song, "Song of Moses" is based on Revalation15:1-4.The singers have given individual testimonies on one of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choirs' DVDs. When you hear their witness on the DVD, then you will understand how the songs on this CD are truly sung from the heart. Many of the choir members come from abusive families. Some were addicted to drugs and some were prostitutes. But when they were saved, they started expressing their joy through song and it really shows through. Absolutely awesome!!

I apologize for getting things messed up. The original order was for 2 DVD's of the same. I believe you informed me that you only had ONE and that would
be sent right away and the other was coming from another place. The other one is to take about 20 days according to your note. If the one I have is the
CD that is OK as I'll use it in my car. I hope the one coming is the DVD as that is what I originally ordered. Thank you for your response. If the one
that remains to be delivered isn't a DVD cancel it and I will purchase one from someone who has one. I love to watch the Choir that makes it popular.
Thanks, W.D. Stapleton
