The Trenchcoat Twins will "solve any crime before dinnertime," and that includes these three fan-selected mysteries from 1995 and 1996. "The Case of the Sea World Adventure" starts out like an ordinary day--Mary-Kate and Ashley are yearning for a new case. When the pair seems doomed to a day of make-believe, they discover a dead body--then it disappears! Some super-snooping leads the twins to victory, and the reward is a vacation on the high seas. In "The Case of the U.S. Space Camp Mission," the girls travel to space camp in Huntsville, Alabama, to ascertain the source of a strange tapping sound and some holes discovered in the Space Shuttle's external fuel tank. You'll be surprised at the culprit and fascinated by an interview with real-life astronaut Alan Bean (the fourth man on the moon). "The Case of the Hotel Who-Done-It" takes the twins to the Hilton Hawaiian Village on Honolulu's Waikiki Beach. Who's stealing valuable items from the hotel's famous guests? Mary-Kate and Ashley solve that question by considering what each of the stolen items has in common with the others.

Mary-Kate and Ashley is a detective series aimed primarily at preteens. As such, the solutions to the mysteries are fairly obvious, the puns plentiful, and a fair amount of time is devoted to music-video vignettes starring the twins. Nevertheless, the show does expose kids to the basics of deductive thinking, offers tours of real-life places often inaccessible to the average child, and explains the use of some basic resource materials. --Tami Horiuchi

My 3 year old daughter LOVES this video! She knows almost every word from the opening credits right thru to the end. She now wants all their viedos. She has been in ballet since she was 2 1/2 and practices at home with Mary-Kate and Ashley. It's a video you will want to watch together over and over!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mary Kate and Ashley's You're Invited to a Ballet Party, January 10, 2000
My three year old daughter has learned several steps, her dance classes have not produced, thanks to this video. I love it, she loves it, even my nieces loved it! They watched it and we rewind the tape and they watched it again, like they had never seen it. I love the songs, the dance steps, everything! I would recommend this to anyone who has a little ballerina, or just for fun!

3.0 out of 5 stars My daughter loves this video, July 18, 1999
By A Customer
My 2 1/2 year old daughter loves Mary Kate and Ashley's Party series. My favorite is the campout video. As for the ballet video, my young daughter has learned all of the words to Satin Shoes and has been showing me how a ballerina positions her feet. I think that it is important for everyone involved in the making of these videos that the twins are role models for our little girls.
