Amazing Allysen Interactive Ethnic Playmate Doll

I have my own business so I decided to give back to community by assisting with Christmas for the unfortunate. I purchased 7 Amazing Allysen dolls and a plethora of other stuff for the less fortunate. None of the Allysen dolls work. I purchased a Amazing Allysen for my little in cousin in Florida also. We tried to make that doll work but it would not. I went to the local Walmart to purchase another one and it did not work either. I am totally disappointed with Amazing Allysen. The kids that I purchased the doll for in Raleigh North Carolina could not find the appropriate things so that I could return the dolls. I will return the one I purchased for my cousin today because my 30 days are almost up. This was a horrible experience. Those kids were expecting to have a super awesome doll, but she did not work. I felt so bad because it was like I had something to do with it because I purchased so many and none of them worked. I did have the opportunity to return the doll to Walmart in Florida and purchased an Amanda doll for my little cousin after Christmas. She really loves Amanda.

My 7 year old got this doll for Christmas. She loves it, but Allysen can be a little annoying at times. It's hard to make her stop talking, and she doesn't respond very well sometimes when you talk to her. In some ways, she's just like my 7 year old, which is maybe why they are so attached to each other. But the novely of the talking and the props wore of very fast. When she plays with her now she mostly tries to avoid activating the talking mechanism. I'm not sorry I got it because I think she'll cherish the memory of the cool doll for a long time. But it's not everything she wanted it to be.

I am completely disappointed in Amazing Allysen. My daughter is 4 years old and she loves to play in her doll's hair. As soon as she tried to come Amazing Allysen's hair, it started coming out by the handfull. Needless to say my daughter has not picked up that doll since Christmas day. I even thought the doll was possibly defective, but I bought this doll with another person, and they had the same problem.

I am eight years old. My mom bought this toy yesterday and it is so fun!!!!!Once Allysen asked me "What do you want to chat about?" And I told her "TV." Then she said "Ok lets watch a show. I'll be quiet while we watch the show." When I finished, I squeezed her left hand. She woke up. Then she said "To be honest, I kinda went to sleep." This is so amazing!!!

The doll is a great gift for little girls who love dolls.My 6 year old loved the doll.I do not like the way allysens hair sheds when you comb it.When allysen asked when is your birthday? My daughter had to keep repeating herself,when allysen asked what is your name the same thing happened.so my daughter got stuck with Happy New Year as her birthday and sweetie as her name,when you ask Allysen to read her book she asked for a smoothie,She is also very loud,my daughter slept with allysen and carried her around everywhere she went.When allysens batteries died she went back in the box.

I purchased Amazing Allysen for my granddaughter's 8th birthday. I installed batteries and freed the doll from her packaging before wrapping her as a gift. First reaction: it's an American Girl Doll! (that's a +) Next question, what does she do? Answer: She annoys....asks a question and doesn't hear the answer....asks an unrelated question....starts a new subject....all of this in front of a party of 12 children! (that's a - ) However, when my granddaughter looked her over after the party, she said, "She looks kind of like ME!) (another + ) And, of all her gifts, Allysen is the one she started to play with first!
So, at this point, we're ahead of the game....I have suggested she try to "train" the doll and if she continues to be annoying, to turn her OFF and play with her like she's a non-talking doll. The results remain to be seen. But there's always this lesson to be learned: "Being a parent is unpredictable: your child can be very annoying and does not always do what you expect her to do." A lesson to teach the child patience and compassion for moms? Maybe that makes this doll a (+++)
BTW, what should also be taken into account is that I did NOT pay $100 or even $69 for the doll. She was $16.99 at Tuesday Morning! All in all, I think she was a good purchase.

I purchased this doll for my 7 year old daughter for Christmas and within one week it was not working. I returned it to Amazon.com and they quickly sent another one. That one worked for about two months and now it doesn't work.

She is a cutie,but you have to program her.According to the directions and her, she says hold her left hand to set the month of the childs birth,we did that until i got tired of her saying january,january,january! lol..finally i held both hands and she went through the months like a charm.My daughter played with her for about an 45 minutes and put her away.She likes her,but I don't know if it was worth the 60 bucks...we'll see.P.S. she takes 3 triple a and 4 double a batteries and she will tell you when her batteries are dying.

As far as dolls go I think this is the WORST one I have ever seen! My daughter received the doll from a friend, so of course the doll is a few years old. According to the girl that owned it before, it never worked right. The doll talks when you dont want it to, and when you are trying to talk to it, it doesnt answer. Her face is badly warped/deformed, and I must admit it looks really scary! I have tried putting brand new batteries in, and it will not work. I am not sure if it was dropped previously or not, but I cant get it to do anything. When my daughter attempted to brush its hair, it came out in handfuls. My daughter likes the doll, but it is basically useless as far as being interactive. I know they paid $100 for the doll ( new ) which if you ask me is a RIPOFF! I tried going to the company website to find instructions on the doll, hmm, what a joke! If you ask me you are better off going to a yard sale and spend 50 cents on a normal doll! LOL!!

I purchased this doll for my five year old for Christmas. It was a little difficult to program because you have to speak slowly and clearly, but once that is done, it's a really cool toy. My daughter loves her and plays with her even if the batteries run down. She loves that it calls her best friend. Little ones should be careful not to try to open her eyes when she is sleeping, because they aren't made from the most sturdy material. Overall, it's a great toy that teaches interaction and patience and speaking with others. I would recommend it, but only if the parent isn't easily frustrated at programming toys.
