Amazing Cosmetics Velvet Mineral Powder Foundation

I have been looking for the right mineral foundation for my pale, dry skin. This was not shiny like bare minerals, which was a plus. It was also not dry like others I have tried (Jane Iredale). However, it was too dark for me.

The pros: very blendable, does not look dry or powder-y at all.

The cons: was too dark for my pale skin, it was also a tad on the orange side.

I would say that as long as you don't have super pale skin, you will probably like this foundation.

I happened to buy this product form ULTA when I was actually there to replenish my Bare Minerals supply. The sales girl recommended the Amazing Cosmetics line and since she used it too, I figured I would try it. Every time since I started using it, I've received nothing but compliments on how healthy and glowing my skin looks. The Bare Minerals was okay, but I noticed my skin lookin' a bit ashy. I have a lil' uneven complexion on my face, but the "Amazing Cosmetics" makes me look good! When people ask me what I'm using, I just tell them that I use "Amazing" and they are quick to go get themselves some. I believe the colors are for more pigmented skin though (I'm half-black and half-Korean, while the sales girl was Filipino.) The yellows and oranges in the color of the minerals blend perfectly for a gorgeous glow. Plus, my husband says I look even more fresh and pretty these days.

Just like the reviewer before me went in to try Bare Minerals, just to try something different besides MAC. I went to a store called Ulta and didn't like the ashy look of the Bare Minerals on my skin. The young lady suggested I try Amazing Cosmetics. I love it! My skin has a healthy glow and brightness to it. I now need to break down and buy the concealer. I am African American and my skin is medium brown tone. This was perfect. It's light and does not feel heavy at all! This is my new foundation!

Like many of the other reviewers, I went to Ulta to try on some Bare Minerals. The sales lady did half of my face with the Bare Minerals and half with the Amazing powder to show me the difference. The Amazing powder looked less dry and seemed to blend much better with my skin for a more natural look. It always gives me a nice glowy finish. I love it! The container is somewhat small but it lasted a fairly long time since I didn't use it every single day. I would highly recommend it!

I love this powder foundation! It's goes on easily and smoothly and it's a cinch to apply. I have very fair skin and found that the Ultra Light was the perfect color for me. It lets my skin show through and evens out my skintone. Lasts all day with little touchups. The concealer is phenomenal and together with the powder foundation makes your skin look flawless without either a shiny appearance or chalky appearance. You can even control the amount of coverage you want from very natural to a more dramatic polished look. I have received so many compliments about my skin since I've been using this powder. I previously was using Chanel's powder foundation with success but wanted something different. This is even better than my Chanel powder foundation and even more natural looking.

It goes on with a brush (sold separately but very good to use with this powder) so there are no sponges to keep clean. The container is small, perfect for stashing in your purse or makeup bag - perfect for traveling too. Be careful when you open it the first time or the powder will spill out when you remove the paper cover. Highly recommend!

The coverage is good, but I do add a cream concealer where needed on my face. I am pleased that I don't have alot of shine on my face. Additionally, I have noticed that I am not seeing makeup easily transferred onto my paperwork. I rated this a 4 instead of 5 since it contains parabens.

Bare escentuals may work for some...but for me Amazing is just that I have never out of my eighteen years of wearing makeup found any other brand that works so well for women of color...I have always found the shade to be a bit off with most brands but workable...However that is not the case with Amazing it does not look like your wearing makeup...but at the same time it is providing full coverage with a natural look...I love it hands down I am sold on this product.

I absolutely love this powder foundation, it disappeared into my skin. It is very light and yet it covers so well. I am also thrilled to know that it does not have any harsh or harmful chemicals that will harm my skin.

A word of caution to buyers though, is that the colors are darker than they seem so choose your shade carefully. It is very difficult to tell from the pictures on the internet.

It was much smaller than I imagined and in trying to pull off the top tab I almost spilled the entire content, therefore try to remove the plastic tab at the top very carefully, because it is a bit difficult to remove. Nevertheless, it is good quality.
