5.0 out of 5 stars the best, December 25, 1999

This review is from: Amazing Grace (Audio CD)
This is one of the best albums I own, and one of the best bands I've ever heard. It's incredible. It's remarkable. Everything about it is great. Every song. Every note. Everything. It's the best. The best from the best. This is like a "turning point album." Anyone who enjoys "good REAL music," should have this album. It'll blow your mind.

5.0 out of 5 stars badleesgruven in central pa!, March 13, 2000

Fantastic collection of songs by the world's most under-rated rock and roll band! This collection of wonderful music was written, performed and recorded by the badlees entirely on their own, in their own studio! Anyone who really likes creative down-to-earth music, will enjoy this cd. Song writing and lead vocals are shared by four of the band members. From the U2 sounding title track to the Grateful Dead sounding Appalachian Scream, all these song show the musical talents these 5 musicians are blessed with. You will keep this cd with your favorites for a long time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Eclectic tunes from a honest to god rock band, February 27, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Amazing Grace (Audio CD)
Amazing Grace is one of those CDs where every song on it is different from every other song. That can be good or bad, depending on your point of view. The guitar player sings a bunch of the tunes, so they don't have the "Badlees Sound" but that doesn't necessarily detract -- there are some very strong songs on this CD that deserve serious airplay. The first time you listen, you might not like it. The 10th time you listen, you'll be hooked. Good stuff. Also, the best tunes aren't sampled here at Amazon

If you haven't heard this band...You have no idea what you are missing!! They deserve National Success. A Pennsylvania band which shows more maturity with each album they put out. All members show their talent clearly on this album. Spectacular lead vocals sung by 4 of the 5 band members! You must own this album

4.0 out of 5 stars the jellybricks rock, April 16, 1999
By A Customer

Okay, so these guys are pretty good. Who's to say if thegroup will ever make it outside their hometown or not, but their music is entertaining and makes a great way to help pass the time on long car trips. What more can you really ask for from a record than that?

5.0 out of 5 stars Rockin' Pop Explosion, April 13, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Amazing Grace (Audio CD)
The Bricks are coming at the nation w/ a mix of poppy ballads and upbeat rock. The mixture on SoapOpera shows the range of audiences that they can reach. With songs likes "Preresquisite Rocker" and "Martyrs", the Jellybricks show their rock-n-roll side. Switching it over to ballads like "too far" and "bittersweet day" shows that the guys--Bryce, Larry, Garrick, and Laine--are indeed flexible. Take the time and check out this release you won't be dissapointed. Just another good band from Central PA, who also happens to be a group of great, laid back, fun guys!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pop, pop,oh...and did I mention pop?, April 2, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Amazing Grace (Audio CD)
What is a Jellybrick? Those of you outside the Pennsylvania/Ohio region may be wondering. If you know the meaning of pop music, you need to familiarize yourself with the 'Bricks. The sophomore release by this pop quartet from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania rocks even harder than their first album, "Kinky Boot Beast". I've often doubted that it was possible to capture the energy of their live performance, and "Soapopera" has proven me wrong. The first track, "Speechless", describes my reaction after the first time I heard the album in its entirety. The harmonies alone made me anxiously await each track. For you rock fans, "Soapopera" doesn't leave you hungry. "Prerequisite Rocker", the answer to the Jellybrick's most famous tune, "Who is God," is full of energy, and if it doesn't move you, then there must be something wrong with your stereo. And for you hopeless romantics, "Soapopera" does contain some balads, including my favorite Jellybrick's song, "Fingernails." However, after listening to the album and weighing all factors, I must admit that "Martyrs" is my favorite song on "Soapopera." The lyrics are ingenious, and I can't get enough of those harmonies. "Soapopera" is a great musical achievement by a band that works as well together as all the songs on the album do. Now all I want to know is, when is the third album coming out?
