This moving collection consisting of ten first-person accounts of gay men and lesbians reveals their struggles in homophobic societies and churches, and shows how they came to affirm both their sexuality and their Christian faith. These testimonies illustrate the burden of hiding part of who one is (illustrated most poignantly by an Episcopal priest who came out to some people but not to his parish, and who writes under a pseudonym), the importance of community, and the power of belief in God's love.
