AMAZING NUTRITION,
By A. Lua "Fiji" (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Amazing Grass Kidz SuperFood - Chocolate Flavor - 200g
My 8 year old son is a picky eater; he does not eat anything with color. So I was long in the market for a superfood formula for kids. I found Amazing Grass Kidz and it was a God's send because it not only provides all servings of fruits and vegetables that were lacking in his diet, it also tastes delicious! All other formulas I tried had strong flavors not very appealing to a child's taste.
I don't think you should worry about the carrageenan in the formula, as another reviewer mentioned, because they have a very small amount of only 37 mg per 6 gram serving, also they claim to use a native carrageenan and not a degraded carrageenan. You can find carrageenan in everything from ice cream, to deserts, pastries and even infant formulas.

My mom and I were looking for something that we could feel good about adding to the kids' milk as a treat...maybe even something that had veggies and vitamins in it to boot. This product was EXACTLY what we were looking for. Except that the kids won't touch it. And it is super expensive.
My two-year-old demanded that I dump it out and pour her some new milk. My four-year-old just set it back down after one sip and wouldn't ever go back to it. And based on their reactions, I never even tried to get my nine-year-old to taste it. I guess its important to know what kind of foods we eat, since families are so different. I was raised in an almost health food household and probably would have barely been able to drink this stuff as a kid. Some of our friends ate nothing but health foods and the kids probably would have enjoyed a cup of this as a treat on a regular basis. In my household, the kids get what I would consider only slightly better than average households: very little fast food (by which I mean about twice or three times a year), a lot of whole grain products, and a lot of fruits, but they don't really eat a whole lot of veggies, and they do get refined sugar, including some ovalteen in their milk sometimes. (Though when I do the ovalteen, I only put one spoonful into their small cups; when it calls for adding four spoonfuls). And one final note, my mom and I made a pact when I spent so much money on two containers of this stuff: if the kids wouldn't drink it, then she and I would go on a Kids Superfood diet until it was gone. We would drink this stuff for breakfast and lunch and eat a small dinner. I haven't been able to make myself stick to that promise...and if it were Spiruteen powder, even the unsweetened kind, I think I could. Hopefully this review will help you decide whether your kids will enjoy this product.
